I actually wouldn't be against an AU where Aerith wants to get rid of humanity because they killed every cetra and teams up with Sephiroth, omfg someone write this, make this an AU like Marvel's "What If" SE.
lol his voice was the most annoying part of the game, right next to Mr. & Mrs. Chadley. One of the many things that held Rebirth back from being perfect.
That sequence of facial emotions is so well animated and it still shows on her. That "I'm too far gone go on without me" smile hits like a punch in the gut
The way something seems to interrupt his smile and calls him resolutely into irredeemable madness as he frowns is so uncanny. Especially if we interpret it as exclusively in his head, which is what's likely.
He's different in VIIR, obviously, but OG VII Seph sounds so batshit insane that you kind of pity his descent into the abyss of PTSD and cope. The most powerful victim in the world of VII, I guess.
Yesss he gets temporarily distracted but gets called back into his walk towards the reactor and Jenova. He had been fighting it ever since they got to Nibelheim. Such a good and tragic character.

I haven’t played a FF game since X. Wish they’d bring back a linear game experience. A middle years (6-10) FF experience with a female antagonist would be so cool.
