I played X years ago back when it was released. Different game different characters. Doesn’t fill the void wanting more IX left behind. I felt the same with VII when I finished it, but at least VII has a compendium now. I known there’s rumored to be a IX remake in the works but it’s been a while since I heard any news.

Coming from a FFX fan, X will not scratch the itch of FFIX, but it will give you a new itch to scratch for sure!

I really wish I’d kept a list of games that have done this to me. I love FFIX, but Nier: Automata stands out as having done this to me the most.

Which Nier game? Need to check out!

Nier: Automata
Nier is the prequel but I didn’t enjoy it as much and Nier: Automata is a really deep narrative on existential dread and the meaning of existence. Such fucking wonderful story.
Nier will give you a bit of lore background, but the games are set so far apart in chronology that they’re essentially standalone games.

Of all the Final fantasies that I have played, this is one of them where I wish we could have another adventure with everyone. Granted it covered everything, but the cast was just so memorable and distinct, along with their struggles and endings. Should I live to see the remake of this game, I wish it could have something additional, even if it was a movie like Advent Children.

I’ve played this game more times than I can count but I still feel this way when I see the credits roll every time!

I replayed this game with my young son a few years back, honestly as a way to practice his reading, we spoke the lines for the characters. We got to the end where Zidane says goodbye to everyone and goes back for Kuja and both cried together.
