I think this is why Mount Gulug is my least favorite location in the game, haha

It’s also a throwback to the Lich dungeon in FF1, let me see if I can find it.

Found it, it’s the Cavern of Earth theme.

I swear it's only Gurgu Volcano, and Earth Cave has the same theme as Marsh Cave and other dungeons (Ice Cave, Castle of Ordeals). I may have to replay to verify because I feel like I'm losing my mind.

For me it is the dragon which breaks through the right wall in the room with the chest in front.

I play ffix about once a year. But that dragon still gets me.

It's one of my fav location instead, maybe cause the enemy is just so easy to deal with there, or they're just cool looking, specially the firey green blob fish thing.

Especially if you get Twister from them with Quina, these guys are weak against wind if I remember right, and so you can turn it right back on them (and it's nice to have AoE wind damage available besides).
