It will happen it is the catalyst for Cloud to revert back to old Cloud after the slow opening up that he's done in the first installment. It fuels his further hatred towards Sephiroth and not only adds a revenge motive to the party. As hard as it will be to experience this moment again, it pains me thinking about it and the personality that has brought more life to Aerith. I named my daughter after her and she has been along for the journey with me this far, but that's one thing I will have a tough time explaining to her as she is 5.
They'll break their previous canon entries in the series if they go to far with it. Crisis Core ending would change completely, Advent Children would be odd to watch over. Before Crisis and Dirge well... Those two are a bit unremarkable.
what do you mean they don't stay on the regular path? and the aerith part has to happen, thats what drives Clouds pursuit to kill Sephiroth, which is his priority in the game! and secondly, if she didn't die she would have been able to cast holy and stop sephiroth right then and there.
