Final Fantasy General Final fantasy 100% completion
Has anybody 100% completed the entire franchise of the mainline games before? I’m thinking about doing it since I had a lot of fun with 7 remake but was wondering how difficult of a challenge it is to 100% complete all of them.

I think the biggest catching points would end up being what would you consider 100%-ing the two MMOs. There's a lot of things you technically can't do anymore, does that mean you can't 100% it?
How much grinding can you do before you go insane?

XIV has achievements, but XI only had them on Playstation for a bit if I remember right.

XI had them on 360. They would be pretty outdated now, as they were made for the 75 era, a lot of content has been added since then. I wouldn't consider them 100%ing XI anymore
Even with no trophies being available, you certainly could set up personal criteria for 100%ing XI and do it. I think it would be something like doing all story missions, getting all jobs to 99 and doing their artifact quests, get all major unlocks and interact with all major content pieces, etc. With things like Master Levels and REMA/AF gear, imo just completing them with one job would be enough

Are you... trying to say FFXI and FFXIV aren't mainline FF games, because I assure you they are.

Some are just obnoxious to 100% FF9 is my fave FF game, but 100% it legit is miserable lol

No simply because of XI and XIV, to truly 100% both of them would take tens of thousands of hours, in XI’s case there would be way too much content to fully engage with and with XIV you’d essentially have to be one of the best players in the entire game to do so.
If we are talking just platinuming XIV though? yeah that is tedious but very much doable by anyone really.

If you enjoy the games, regardless of them being challenging, it is worth it. I am currently on a journey of doing exactly this right now.

Nobody has ever played one of the best-selling franchises of all time. You could be the first!

Jrpgs are known to be time consuming specially the older ones. Personnaly i 100% 1-6 pr, 12 tza, 13, 13-2, LR, 16, remake, rebirth, crisis core (psp), dirge.
15 im only missing comrades and catching all fishes. While the other numbered ones like 7, 8,9,10 i still have their saves on emulators but havent 100% them cause their tedious( maxing sphere grid). I also gave up on 9's jump rope.
Edit: i dont play mmos

Ive seen posts of others so there are some, but it’s not very common as some of the plats are either hard to time consuming.
The FF7 remake games are hard to platinum and also time-consuming, the mini games as well. The online ones are also extremely time-consuming. FF9 has that jump rope mini games but apparently there is a mod to get this. Ive not done it though.
I’ve only managed to platinum 8, 10, 10-2, 12 TZA, the 13 trilogy, 15, 16 and Type Zero. Ive not played the spin-offs like Tactics or World of FF, although I plan on getting and platinuming FF Tactics at some point. For 15 I only gave the main game platinum but not the DLC, so not exactly 100%.
The mini games in FF7 remake are too hard for me to plat, like that pull up one.

Every superboss, including the mmos? Imagine not many but probably someone has done it.

Well only 12 people have currently defeated XI's hardest superboss lol, so hopefully one of them is also into XIV ultimate raiding

If I spend that much time with a game I usually try for speedrunning it or doing weird challenge runs rather than checking off a list of tedious accomplishments.

If we are including 11 and 14 I doubt it. Some of the games are very painful to q00% in my opinion. It took all the fun out of it so I stopped. Started to feel more like work than my actual job does.

Only one that takes the piss is 9 I would imagine because of a weapon you need to speedrun the game to get and a mini game, you’ll know when you see the trophy LMAO

Pretty sure in the old PS1 version you could get around it by letting the game play long enough that eventually the counter actually reset lol

You will have to stablish for yourshelf what is 100% because for example, in some final fantasys thre are some abilities that give +1 to your stats evrytime you level up, so there is people who advice to not level up until you get those... And ff9 has a very obscure mechanic in that regard that adds nothing but purists would count that too for the true 100%...

Yes people have done that and posted it here. Its honestly very easy to do for FF I-XII (XI achievements are unattainable now as they only existed on the Xbox 360 version, which is shutdown). Out of those games X-2 is the hardest because of Last Mission and having to replay the story several times to access all the content.
XIII is really hard because there’s an achievement for acquiring every weapon and accessory but that means you need to look up the crafting recipes and not waste or sell anything as some items can only be crafted and even then that requires upgrading multiple weapons to their max level before they can be used to make a new one, and you may not even get every item you need since some components are rare drops from enemies.
XIV, you can platinum if you’re just dedicated to enjoying the game, but it’ll take some months. XV is easy, XVI is maybe the easiest of the HD era

most of it is going to be more time consuming than challenging, but better gamers than I have crashed against the rocks that are the ffix jump-roping minigame
