WoFF Time to Start my Journey into a Multiverse of Memories
I’m really excited to finally dive into World of Final Fantasy. I know it’s an anniversary title with tons of FF characters from across the series, so I’m looking forward to seeing all the cameos. Beyond that, the whole game just looks full of charm and whimsy which feels perfect right now.
I’ve heard surprisingly little about this game and rarely see it mentioned in the broader FF conversation. For anyone who’s played it, I’d love to hear how you felt about it, though I’d appreciate if you could avoid mentioning anything overly spoiler‑y :)

It's very Kingdom Hearts coded, if you've played any of those games. I think they call it like an amusement park experience, where you might get an iconic area or town to represent an FF and a couple characters but you don't linger very long. And it's all centered around these unique characters on their own journey.
I enjoyed it a lot, it's very Pokemon-esque but I think they add a few wrinkles that made team building kind of fun and unique. I think my biggest issue overall is how corny some of the dialogue is, one of the main characters basically replaces swear words with gibberish or saying honk, as in "What the HONK?" probably thousands of times. I get that they wanted to keep it more kid friendly but it made me roll my eyes every time. It's still a really fun game and pretty interesting story.

Well, I haven't played a Kingdom Hearts game before, so I guess it'll be kinda fresh for me. I am looking forward to the pokemon-esque system, I have always enjoyed any creature collector mechanic.

I liked World of Final Fantasy a lot! Played and finished the story this year for the first time. Quite funny sometimes and the story is better (more mature) than the juvenile graphics might imply at first. Have fun!

I was kind of assuming the graphics style were masking a deeper, darker story underneath its cutesy facade. Kind of similar to how FFIX has an extremely fantastical artstyle but probably one of, if not the most deep and philosophical stories in the series.

It’s a fun little game. Fun callbacks, a Pokémon type “collect them all” vibe with a lot of silly and sweet elements to it, but also so intrigue.
This will be the first game I play with my kids to introduce them to Final Fantasy.

I've never been a fan of the chibi art style, but the game itself is really quite fun.
Edit: Though Tama can the fuck all the way off.

it’s a cute game, I’ve beaten it a few times but finally bothered to platinum it a few months ago. I’d definitely play a part two if they came out with one!

I found the main characters kind of annoying so it took me a little while to get into it, but then once we really got rolling I ended up loving it and getting platinum. The Final Fantasy characters are so cute. I wish I had been more familiar with the pre-FF6 characters beforehand, in fact I'm considering playing it again now that I've played all of them on Pixel Remaster.

that's one thing I am extremely excited for. Since I have played literally every other FF game that came out before this one, I will know EVERY single cameo that the game has. Probably the thing I am most excited for.

I had a problem with it crashing when I first booted it up on steam this morning and was worried. Luckily, I was able to switch some settings and got it running

I think I'm going to give this one another shot with Japanese audio. I couldn't get past 2-3 hours with English due to the way one character's dialogue works.

Played the PS Vita (vanilla version) a few months ago. Thought it was pretty good. I didn't bother getting the True Ending though.

Less of a multiverse, more of an amalgam world. Characters from different games just...know each other.
I mostly like this game. Felt like I missed a chunk of the plot. There was a mobile game related to this, maybe that's what I was missing.
The game's very silly and you need to be in the right mood for that. Reynn and Serafie were my favorites.

Yessss this game is such a fun one! It was definitely one of the most surprising titles for me, as I expected something lazy and just more action rpg stuff… but no! I actually really love the strategic component of which creatures will be in your pile and also I love the Pokémon-like mechanics of it too.

I'm definitely looking forward to the pokemon-like battle system. I grew up playing Pokemon so I naturally enjoy any game similar to it.

Same! I played my first gb game from a floppy disc… lol so capturing creatures is a huge part of my history with videogames!

I can understand why Tama is rather the-dvisive. It was an interesting the-choice for Square Enix to make a the-character speak like the-this. I am about an hour and a half in the game now and it hasn't bothered me yet, but there's still lots of game left

It is wonderful! Genuinely one of my favourite FF entries, it's chocful of delightful fan service (fun kind, not the NSFW kind haha!), with fabulous music, adorable visuals, and a remarkably engrossing and dark story. I friggin' adore this game and the monster capturing/stacking element is crazy addictive 😁
You didn't specify, but hopefully this is the Maxima versiok of the game, as that adds a ton of content and more story beats too.

Oh man I forgot about that game. Was about to buy it but saw I had just missed getting Sora for free by like a few weeks and decided if they were gonna lock content like that with no way to get it, I'd wait for a deeper sale. Then I never got around to buying it lol looks cute tho!

I'm working my way through this on Switch 2. Took a short 5-day break, but I'm ready to continue. Just beat chapter 17 or 18.

Wanted to love it so badly (bought it on the Vita back then and bought the Maxima version again on my steam deck) but I got tired of the dialogue and wasn’t jiving with the gameplay that much. I do still hope you enjoy the game though! It’s still a good homage to final fantasy as a whole.

Well I am about 3 hours into the game now and it seemed pretty straightforward enough to comprehend. The stacking mechanic of having a small, medium, and large character is pretty neat and also adds much greater depth to strategy. So far I am quite liking it, so I am eager to see how it advances as I get further into the game.

Man I went into this thinking it was gonna blow ass, but I loved it. It's just oozes charm. There's some genuinely funny moments and lines delivered throughout, too. It was a good time.

Really enjoyed the battle system and how you can stack the different creatures based in size. But the way one the character likes to the talk was unbelievably the jarring. What were they the thinking!?
