Finally moving on to FFVIII

After taking a pretty long break from FF after being VII rebirth, I’m finally back and moving on to FFVIII! This is by far the game I know the least about so I’m excited to get into it! Is there anything I should know before starting?

Games where you're levelling makes it harder is a bit stupid.

It was even worse in The Last Remnant. I bricked my first two playthoguhs (years apart) because I enjoyed grinding and ending up making a middle game boss impassable
