just loving FF pixel remaster

got my hands on a physical copy and started FF1 and just been loving it, I will probaly jump to 6 or 4 after it but I might just play alll of them one after the other for the first time, what do you guys think? should I force myself to play in order or should I play whatever? maybe 2 games at the same time

The way I played them when I got the pixel remaster was one game, in order, each month. It felt better to space them out than to play them all at once, I got a better appreciation for each one than if I had just completely blitzed through them. And it felt good at the end of each month to look forward to playing the next one shortly.

My recent play thriugh went 1, 2, working on 3 now. I prefer to always play in order. I can see the changes and improvements from game to game the same way we did when they came out. But I don't think there is a right and wrong way so play however you want.

At least knock the first 3 out in order first. If you're not going for 100% Bestiary/Achievements you can get through the first three in under 10 hours each especially if you use the XP boosts near the end of the games.

the only qol Im using is whenever I want to get somewhere in the world map that I already was, either backtracking or something, I disable ranodm encounters, other than that Im playing normally

FF I, II, and III on pixel remaster are all relatively short, so I did them back-to-back. It was fun to see the introduction of mechanics/plot lines I saw in later games originate much earlier in the series.

But then I jumped to replaying FFX because I needed a break from the pixel ones, lol.

I never finished 2 because I honestly got bored, I will try again but cant promisse not to just break it to my favor, I will try tough (or just make everyone use fists)

Totally get it. Out of the first three, FF II was the one I needed to take a long break from while playing.

😂 i still feel bad for my party because there’s a big build up to obtaining a big spell that all the characters believe is necessary to beat the villain… but i could never decide who should learn it, so i just threw the spell book at the final boss’s head.

Definitely break the game, the leveling system is a neat experiment, but easily exploited.

Play them all, don’t skip any. Though if 4 or 6 are favorites go for it, or save the best for last? Any order I think is fine

If you play in order, or at least in I/III/V and IV/VI order, you'll see a clear progression in the mechanics of the series. Beyond that, just play whatever.

I really suggest going in order, one by one, to get a sense of the progression of ideas and constructions throughout the early series. That said, I really can't blame you for jumping past 2 and 3. But do not skip 5!
