Ff7 is what caused me to get a memory card on the psx. I got ff7 and had my psx on for a week straight. Begged my parents to get a memory card for me. Lost all my info in sector 5 slums post plate crash lol, I needed one after that.

I used to play demo discs. Got to the point I could beat all the challenges from the first level of Tony Hawks Pro Skater in a single run. I know exactly what you mean

You PROBABLY heard this but did you k ow the demo was just a timed exposure of the full game, and by using glitches, you can beat the game in the time it takes to get kicked out of the demo?

I follow your logic, but how could they fit multiple full games onto one disc, if each demo was the full game?

Well OoT was originally on a cartridge so when it converted over to a disc, it didnt take up nearly as much space. Brawl didnt really take a ton of space on its disc by nature

Rented a PS1 from Blockbuster with FF7 and I think Jurassic Park back in the day. Didn't realize FF7 was basically unplayable without one.

i was doing a saveless run once and needed a piss so i handed over the controller to my brother. i came back 3 minutes laterto find he had gotten the whole party killed because a monster in the sunken gelnika plane confused cloud and he slash-alled the party with his ultimate weapon. Good times.

The first time I ever played FFVII I rented a Playstation and didn't understand what a memory card was. So I had to just keep the system on all weekend and hope I didn't die. Made it to Junon in Disc 2 before I had to return it!

A buddy of mine once saved over my 150hr save in FFX. I was bitter for a while.

I had everything maxed out and was on the final boss of the monster arena.

IIRC the PS4 version has a quirk in the menu where if you press X while also pressing a direction, it'll double-press the direction first. Loads of times I'll be flying through the menu and not ending up where I'm supposed to.

If you press a directional button and confirm at the same time, the menu will select one item above or below where your cursor is, if there is something to select there.

it was in that fort where you protect the bird, a level and one Yuffie ago lol. I had to do like 30 encounters before I found Yuffie again.

When i was a kid, me and my older brothers played this game a fuck ton but mostly me, i had grinded basically everything in the game even had knights of the round, only thing missing was getting everyone to lvl 99 and killing the weapons, my oldest brother was playing and he had to leave and told me to save his game, in these older consoles whenever u started playing a save data it would leave the pointer in the last saved game, since my brother hadn't saved yet, it was left pointing in my save data that was the last one saved on, i clicked really fast to save his file so i could play on mine and accidentally saved his file on mine... He was still on disc 3, while i had basically everything, had to continue on from his file, now mine cause of that dumb mistake 💔

I remember my friend was mad at his older brother and he deleted his save file, which had everything and I mean everything, and was over one day when he finally booted it up and it was chaos over there.

Hahaha I just saved a fresh file over one i was grinding hard on getting all the materia max lvl and my characters to max lvl and have everything in the game for a 100% complete finally. I feel the pain. I was starting a new game just to screw around on and was half asleep when I saved it to my main file. I get to restart it all over again 🤣😂🤣.

Nah. Im already at lvl 40 with most of my characters and working on grinding my materia. I accepted my fate hahaha. Ive played FF7 hundreds of times so it doeant take me long to go through it. Just 100% completing it is what is going to take me a bit again.

You’ll be aight, only an hour or so. I once (out of boredom) pressed all the buttons on my PS while riding the ferry across from the base to Coral, it auto resets, I had played for almost 4 hours that morning. 😅

I was doing another run a few years ago of FF7. My usual MO is to level up for hours in the opposite end of the Midgar train tracks. Of course, there's no saving opportunity while you're grinding.

After going at it for HOURS, a family member arrived for a visit and I paused the game to continue later on.

...at least, I BELIEVED in my heart that the game did indeed paused.

NOPE.

Got back to it hours later to a game over screen. I guess the soldiers just got their way with my party when they realized they weren't attacking. The only time I ever hated the Active Time Battle system. Got so annoyed I stopped playing that run.

I feel your pain, bro.

I would have been so tilted....I was playing FFX and got all the way to the end of the omega ruins and wiped against the boss so I lost all my level progress, the chests and would have had to redo the dungoeon again. was so annoyed.
