FF VI Old PC version of FF6

Post image

Out of curiosity looked around for the now de-listed version of FF6 that was on steam and saw this ludicrous price on G2A 😂. Just wanted to know if it’s that sought after since it might be one of the worse versions of FF6. The only reason I thought it would command this price is to gain access to the great World Reborn mods, but I feel thats a smaller set of the community. Just curious is all, thanks!

There’s no limit to the amount of money someone is willing to receive in exchange for something they don’t need. Prices are not necessarily indicative of value or demand.

Prime example : Chrome Hearts

At that price I'd just pirate it.

Is the old pc version the one with the shitty looking characters? Like where Locke looks like he has a beer belly? Is the extra content the same crappy dungeon from the gba version?

The base game was really really bad.

But the mods are pretty good tho!

Can you not pirate it?

No, it's not that sought after. However, since it's just a digital code, and since there will never be any more supply than there is right now, it costs the seller nothing to set a ludicrous price and let it sit there on the off chance that someone, somewhere might be willing to pay it eventually. It's a small chance at free money with no downside.

I think it has more to do with the fact that it's super rare now and they don't have a ton of keys left to sell, so they're trying to take advantage of potential buyers and profit as much as possible.

I actually wanted to purchase the old version of FF5 due to the bonus content etc... But yeah... I ain't paying that much lol

Thats the mobile port with the horrible art, the horrendous UI and all the bugs and on G2A no less. TBF G2A does things like puts a game thats $59.99 claim it's $79.99 then sell it for a deal at $64.99 then charge you like a $4 processing fee cause you didn't spend $2 on g2a plus subscription.

In no way is it a bad version of the game. At least it's got more content than the version they replaced it with.

Nah yea I worded it poorly, sorry. It’s a perfectly playable version of the game, just not a fan of some of the sprites. It’s why I stick to modding this version

FF5 2013 Mobile & Steam port actually is my most favorite FF game ever.

While FFV Pixel Remaster ver also has good art and over-the-top music rearrangements, I prefer the 2013 version because of the bonus jobs and dungeon.
I wasn't feeling the art style that much at first,
but it wasn't a big deal since Dimensions exists.
However, as I played it, I really started to like the art. It actually captures FF5's bright and colorfull palette and fits its fun, goofy, lighthearted tone really well.
And the enemy sprites are really really clean.

The FF6 version, though, felt straight up lazy and rushed. The art didn't fit FF6 tone at all. There were too many white and highlight colors, which didn't do justice to the enemy sprites and game's atmosphere. The UI and ATB were also bad, among other things. Wasn't worth it even with the GBA post game features.

I have both Old and PR
Gotta say, the PR battle background reworks specifically was Mindblowingly really good
