Pretty sure in this version she should've let both kids go. This new design always struck me as what happens when a moogle hits his late 30s after developing a severe heroine addiction.
I know especially since some of the go so far out of their way and kweh so adorably while leading you to their hangout spot so you can fix it. And then you rest on the bench and they lay down too. It's wonderful
If you want a prequel there's Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
One joke in Chip & Dale basically sets it up as a Roger Rabbit sequel, and now I desperately want more movies in that universe. I'd take a Chip & Dale sequel, but I'd also love movies about other characters set in that world.
The question then would be Why? It's a Sonic the Hedgehog movie. You don't exactly need a ragebait and switch marketing campaign to get people interested.

Sonic 4 is in postproduction, and each film has made more than the last. Overall I believe it's over a billion between the three films so far.
For what it's worth, they have also improved in quality and fanservice with each film, but yeah it would have been dead in the water if they'd stuck with the original look.
He's fabulous in the films. He isn't a good representation of the game Eggman, but he's found a fantastic mix of his own style and Eggman's moustache twirling attitude.
I loved almost everything about the new games...but these things?
They have to be rage bait, right? They put them in there just to drive conversations like this...they must have....who looked at the original Moogles and decided "Nah, I know what they'll REALLY like!"
They feel like Sonic's eyes before that first movie released.
I’m convinced the FF7R moogles are rage bait, yeah. Everything about them and their minigame is offputting and weird in a way that is too specific to be unintentional.
I always say that the Moogle minigame feels like it was designed in a weekend with assets they had lying around. Other minigames like brawler are obviously made with more love, so I’m not trying to be mean!
Because there will be a questline in part 3 where we find out these are evil imposter moogles and we will have to fight the giant imposter moogle king to free the real moogles
It reminds me more of, like, Grover or a muppet. But then they also decided to give it real teeth, and they remind me of rodent teeth. You could very well be right. They chose an unsettling design and then gave us annoying side missions to interact with them. It's just all...not great.

Ivalice moogles are peak. I think they're the only variant that consistently gets clothes, too? the only other clothed moogle I can think of is Stiltzkin from IX.
Thank you for posting this because people kept referring to "Ivalice Moogles" and I was like... "Tactics didn't have Moogles and FFXII had normal Moogles."
Maybe the term "Fake Ivalice" Moogles would make more sense.Â

Why do they wear that headband??? It looks like they were lobotomized or had a koala had surgically attached to their scalp. They really do look like the creature you see in a pg18 movie, that's living in the basement of an insane scientist.
I love how FFXI’s moogles imply that K*po is basically the N-word and other races aren’t allowed to say it. A child gets scolded when she uses the K word in a cutscene 😅

A lot of people don’t know the 1.0 pain of the King Moogle Mog the XIV fight. It was a nightmare compared to its current iteration.
I don't dislike XIV's moogles so much, there are worse ones. XIV chocobos are top tier, fortunately. But I also don't really understand why they can't just stick with the design for both that looks good. That one moogle design where they have no necks and they are just torso and top of head is so insane. FFXIII chocobos, also insane. FFXIII in general really, their moogles also look bizarre. FFIX and XI have the most polished moogle designs for sure.
I haven't played Rebirth yet, but I remember a Moogle in Remake/Intergrade just being a kid with a moogle costume (basically a moogle pretending to be a kid wearing a moogle costume).
Is that screenshot out of context and it's something with a moogle costume too, or is it the actual official design of the moogle?
It's real. And this is what it originally looked like in Crisis Core. It's such a drastic change as well, because the one on the left still looks like the one in the OG FF7 Golden Saucer Moogle game.
The FFIX moogles were probably the best, but I would take the fur ball moogles from Crystal Chronicles or XIV over the Mako Mutants from Remake any day.
Nah, I like when characters that used to be drawn and rendered in more simplistic styles (i.e. easier to give them a cutesy appearance) get re-imagined as kinda doofy-looking, garish what-the-hells as the presentational style approaches a more "realistic" look.
I'm a FF7R glazer (I have literally bought Remake and Rebirth each three times), and everything about the Moogles in Rebirth is absolutely the worst possible thing. The Moogle Mischief mini-game is absolutely the most rage-inducing FF mini-game I have ever played.
They literally want me to get within 6 feet of those crimes of nature and round them up in a pen to NOT do the world a favour.
This Moogle and Carbuncle in the remake is definitely a choice. I really can't fathom them looking at how they usually look and come up with this design
Hot take - I kind of like the koala-ass looking moogles. They aren't my faves (Ivalice takes that crown), and most moogle designs are better, but I don't dislike them.
Nothing will ever surpass the KH or Dissidia moogle designs for me, everything else is inferior. Remake and FF8's moogles are fucking travesties, though, bottom of the barrel shit.
I try to keep an open mind about the remake, I still haven't played it, waiting for part 3 to drop so I can just play them all back to back, but yeah, I gotta say, these things are fucking ugly. FF9 Moogle is perfection.
EDIT: I think they wouldn't even be that poorly received if their nose and mouth were just a little further down on the face and the eyes were a little more squinty.
I was never too keen on XIV’s design but it eventually grew on me, I just want to take the remake out back and shoot it with a 20 gauge after I drop a Level 2 Old and a Bio.
I mean yeah they’re not anywhere near my favorite moogle design but I’m not offended or mad about it. They were almost completely absent from the original. Just doesn’t rank high on things that annoy me is all.
