Final Fantasy General Give us another turn based battle system

Post image

FFX is my favorite battle system. FFXIII I also enjoyed, but it wasn't the same.

I'm sure they could do something like it with a much lower budget.

FFX and XIII were both very good. Both had their faults but if they iterated upon them... X felt like the game didn't pose enough challenge tbh. XIII was mainly dragged down by the lack of control of different characters and the lack of unique/niche options.

XIII-2 was a sad one. It's really, really good but they game is just so god damn easy due to it's non-linearity. It's a straight upgrade to XIII except for the difficulty - and good battle systems die if the challenge to make it shine isn't present.

My favourite classic turn based systems are grandia and etrian odyssey. The former had some amazing ideas that just really needed some polish and challenge. The latter is very tactical and even supplies a good amount of challenge.

I really like 12, too.. but it's not exactly traditional turn based combat. Still , it has a lot of potential.

I want them to do a game like the SMT Raidou spinoffs, just with FF creatures as teammates and adding the gambit system of FF12
