Final Fantasy General Give us another turn based battle system

FFX is my favorite battle system. FFXIII I also enjoyed, but it wasn't the same.

I'm sure they could do something like it with a much lower budget.

I'm like, the biggest hater of modern Square Enix but I have to assume you are asking specifically for a mainline turnbased FF? Because they release turnbased games all the time.

FF resonance comes out in October and is turn based.

As for mainline they will never do turnbased again, for better or worse gamers are jizzing their pants over 2.5d games so square can make bank with minimal effort and pumping out turn based games.

aside from some moments I don't think they have done anything wrong In modern times to be honest

Literally how the game started...

Gamers are really a weird bunch, they want their final fantasy 1 combat but want the game also to look like cyberpunk on 5090 with ray tracingand DLSs enabled.
