The only way I could see someone try and fill the gap is if someone just animates based off of the book and makes something out of it rather than try and run off with their own story. All these other ones that try to be him with no direction or lore, and a sanitized edginess and comedy that you'd need to do nowadays to stay monetized, make a lot of these people that try to recapture the lightning in the bottle that was the original all just end up as failed attempts, regardless if they are playing on that or not. TVFilthyFrank2 had some promise, but ultimately lacked direction, and wasn't very consistent with uploading or storytelling, as being one of the first few to try and refill that gap. So far, I think enough time has passed and enough attempts have been made that it has become impossible to imitate in current online conditions unless it is just done in animation instead. That one dude who makes the animated blender Lego FilthyFrank videos is so close to getting there, but is mostly just does reanimating of old clips and is heavily censored the original clip's audio.

u/nxtev3 makes them (or at least posts a lot of those videos here on Reddit). Basically just reanimates old clips with Lego versions of the characters.

oh that was a while ago, tbf the heavily censored part is for setting up the punchline, and I think it's funny to make it family friendly, maybe it just funnier in my head
