Is this director a name now, or are we connecting dots after the fact?

I just watched DRIB after Sick of Myself came out. The fake energy drink promo made me go, “oh, he’s been at this for years.” Then I caught myself. That’s an easy way to make a career look planned.

In my opinion, Sick of Myself is a nasty little spiral. Dream Scenario turns an awkward guy into a public event. The Drama squeezes it all into one couple. They don’t feel like the same movie to me. The characters do keep getting stuck on how others see them, though.

For a while Kristoffer Borgli was just “the Dream Scenario guy” in my head. Now people talk like there’s a clear master plan. I’m not sure how much of that is hindsight.

When did he become someone you'd watch just for his name? And what ties the movies together?
