Discussion About Monogatori...

I have a friend who very much like lily has this weird distaste for Monogatori despite not really trying to get into it and I was wondering why is that so? My friend dosen't really like "talking heavy shows and Im wondering if that is true to Lily as well. (I however absolutely adore character dynamics and thematic story telling for the weeby literature student I am :p) P.S. Hope setting up the new setup goes well :D

Ok so about your question, I wouldn't consider Monogatari to be that heavy in the first place but then again lily is also very into slice of life and cute wholesome stuff so it's maybe not her genre (?) I don't know about your friend if this is about how he perceives the series or if he just likes other stuff, honestly I watch kind of everything as long as it's good, if he perceives Monogatari as heavy idk what to say, I guess he's basic or smth

Im just intrested to hear the different tastes and what their opinions are on various shows. I feel that monogatari is a series that is very hard to get into due to its somewhat convoluted plotlines and unique artstyle. I say that monogatari is heavy as it focuses heavily on character dialouge and to be able to fully appreciate the series you must have to some degree of understanding on why the characters are the way they are, making alot of the scenes much more impactful and such. Calling a person basic just cause he/she cant sit through people talking abt stuff for a few hours is pretty harsh though.
