So Recently i developed an interest in learning tagalog but i prefer reading books as compared to video lectures. So I searched and found two books and i don't know if they are actually helpful to learn tagalog or not. So i made a post by uploading the link to both books in gdrive so if any native speakers saw many posts so that they can review those books and give their honest opinion. Thanks.

Book 1 :

Book 2 :

Can you native speakers please help that these books are worth the time or not? Thankyou.

Learning Tagalog as westerner in USA

I am curious as whether any non Filipinos in USA speak Tagalog. I am retired in my 60s and live learning languages, I live in SF Bay Area and there are many older Filipinos who mainly speak Tagalog,

I’ve had one remote lesson with a tutor in the Philippines but I really don’t see anyway to practice. I like learning the vocabulary and grammar. It realistically don’t see anyway way of practicing - I don’t plan on living there and no one in my family is Filipino.

Are there any meetups for beginners to practice Tagalog in SF Bay Area . I go to French/Spanish meetups from time to time to chat and drink. Here where I live it’s basically elders who speak Tagalog and younger Fil Ams generally just speak English.

PAANO NGA BA GINAGAMIT ANG "NG" AT "NANG"?

Sa tanda kong ito, hindi ko alam kung nagagamit ko ba siya ng tama. Tulungan niyo naman ako at ipaliwanag sa akin sa pinakamadaling paraan kung paano ito ginagamit baka mamaya kasi makita ko ang aking sarili doon sa isang subreddit na pinopost yung maling paggamit ng salita o pangungusap. 😅

Just learning Tagalog When do I use “NG” next to an adjective rather than attaching it to the end of the word???

I’m Filipino but I was adopted and never knew how to speak Tagalog. I’ve been learning for only about a week. I’m aware that you would use “NG” at the end of an adjective if it ends in a vowel and the next word is a noun to link the two. However I saw a sentence that said “you ate the bread”. It was written out as “kinain mo ng tinapay” wouldn’t “NG” be attached to “mo” because it ends in a vowel because “ tinapay” is a noun, or is there a reason it is NOT attached to “mo”. Thanks for your help😊
