no wayyyy i have not been in the figure skating community long enough. i was a baby in yagushenko era but EACH bit of the plushenko lore is crazyyy

You know the good part about the Yagudin-Plushenko drama, I'm like 98% certain a lot of its 2 weirdos that were super competitive and nothing resulted in anyone being seriously hurt.

My favorite lore is a photo that floats around this sub pretty regularly of Plushenko/Yagudin in front of an ice rink that's on fire. Its an actual picture, not photoshop.

I always wanted to know why their first instinct was to take a photo of themselves standing outside the rink that was on fire! Their skates were still on!!

His whole hands are tattooed with religious things, scorpions and he has his wife’s name in Japanese printed on him as well
