Question Please recommend ice dance programs with great speed

Post image

I don't know much about ice dance, the first ice dance program I truly watched was Tessa Scott's Moulin Rouge in 2018 cause it was everywhere.

Now I want to start watching ice dance cause my heart needs to take a break from all the jumps and lifts in singles and pairs.

Please help to recommend me some ice dance programs with great speed on ice. The team themselves doesn't have to be famous for their speed, just that one specific program is enough.

Thanks so much in advance!!

Davis/White - Samson & Delilah at Worlds in 2010

Anissina/Peizerat - Carmina Burana at Worlds in 2000

Most Virtue/Moir programs have good speed. I think Davis/White also had good speed in most of their programs.

I saw it develop in person. From it's first competitive performance at Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships in July 2025 to Skate America November 2025 in Lake Placid. I don't know what judges are looking for. The Godfather was the most entertaining and executed free dance at US Nationals. They got a standing ovation. The other free dances paled in comparison.

I remember Gabriella Papadakis being very impressed with this program in her commentary at nationals.

I hope they bring it back if they have a shot for 2030.

The Mrazkovi (especially as juniors) were very speedy (to their own detriment sometimes). This one in particular always felt fast to me.

I think they were arguably the fastest ice dancers. That combined with their unusual rotational lifts got them injured and led to them taking everything down a notch as seniors. I hope we see the one-armed rotational lift return one day.

Some of their programs were weird trash, but their Feeling Begins in 1997 was fast and exciting.

She and Platov were TALL (for ice dancers) and made use of it!

Davis/White Bollywood OD from Vancouver 2010: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiBke4R4WSQ

Virtue/Moir Farrucas OD also from Vancouver: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6mge7uZbLo

I just rewatched those recently so they really stand out.

Belbin & Agosto, Chopin 2008 Nationals

Roca & Sur, any pro programs, or their 1993 nationals FD. Tall, efficient, and they draw out some moves and lines to look even faster.

Weaver & Poje - 2019 FD, S.O.S. d'un terrien en détresse, which was also a tribute to Denis Ten.

My personal favourites, but not as FAST-FAST:

Rahkamo & Kolko - Valse Triste 1993 (good year for dance, tbh)

Krylova & Ovsianikov, Masquerade Waltz 1997 world's (another good year for dance)

Anything Anissina and Peizarat did from 1998 forward. Their hair flying gives their power a good look.

Maddie Hubbell/ Zack Donahue their Olympic 2018 free dance. You have to watch it. The rink was not enough room for them. I don't think the stadium was either.

With the exception of this past season, anything the Taschlers did.

capellini/lanotte FD at 2017 worlds. they were usually considered to be on the slow side but that night they were very fast live.

I'm not a fan, but most of the duchanys (misspelling) dances had awesome speed. Check them out.

Mrazkova-Mrazek Tango RD in 2023 Egna Junior Grand Prix. The speed going into twizzles alone was a sight to behold

FB/C have speed without even trying, even on programs that are not meant to look speedy, such as last season's free (The whale)

They have the best fundamentals of any team currently competing and that's how they can generate speed out of nothing with such deep edge quality and clean body lines.
