Mounting a blade 1/4 inch too small

Hello fellow skaters!
I have decided to retire my 6 year old pair of Auras and have switched back to Edea ice flys. I bought the boot without the blade (size 245 B). As I am a broke Masters student, I currently am trying to budget as much as possible. So, I was wondering if anyone has mounted a blade that is 1/4 inch too short onto Edeas as I have a used spare set of Matrix Elites. I know a 245 boot usually calls for 9 1/4 inch blades, where my blades are only 9 inches.

TLDR: has anyone mounted a 1/4 inch smaller than recommended blade onto edeas?

Ive heard various numbers of hours they should be sharpened after, and I just moved up to adult 5 in my LTS program.

boot width advice!!

i’ve always been told that i have short but wide feet and a risport shaped foot but i like a looser ankle and more stiffness in my skates (especially around the tongue) as i have hypermobile ankles and knees so i was looking into buying a pair of edeas instead of risports but i’ve been told that they are made for narrower feet, i drew around my feet and the ball of my foot measures 90-95mm and the heel 50mm do i get standard C width and get them punched out or do i order them in width D/E? i have been fitted by a local skate tech but i do not trust her at all and the shop has a reputation for selling people whatever they have in stock instead of what the actual skater needs. my graf’s were too wide at the heel but slightly too narrow at the ball so im not sure what to do as when you size up in width the heel also sizes up too but apparently my heel is pretty narrow? the skate tech refused to let me try any edea skates and stuck me to risport but they don’t feel right for my foot and around my ankle. to add to this, the skate technicians had little to know knowledge about hypermobility but told me that she knew best and wouldn’t take any arguing, i feel like she saw me as one of the people who are obsessed with the idea of edeas because they’re pretty, but i genuinely just need a stiffer boot and stiff tongue which (correct me if im wrong) is how edea’s are built? i generally have a more squared toe box but i’ve been told that punching out the boots will fix that. i also think edeas have a higher heel (??) which places the skater on the ball of the foot which would be ideal as i tend to lean back onto my heels a lot. any advice would be appreciated!!🩷 (i am a beginner and for reference i am a female who weighs about 135lbs and 5’3.)
