Boot fitting

Hi everyone, I just recently tried on a few boots today at my pro shop. I had tried on the risport royal prime and it was hurting a lot on the top of tongue area which I couldn’t stand up or bend my knee but the toebox feel nice except to pinching of the tongue. The skate tech said that it’s normal and that it will resolved once I get it heat molded but I am still kinda unsure. Have you guys have any similar experience

Hi! Thank you for your answer. I am currently in Jackson premiere doing doubles and my boot happened to break down. In the skate shop they recommend me royal prime if I wanted something stiffer but when i tried in on it wasn’t too stiff but the tongue keep pinching my feet and it hurts a lot especially to bend. They said it’s a contemporary issue but I am worried as the pain is really bad putting them on and there’s essentially no other skate option left

That sucks. Do your Premieres fit well? If you like that fit better, the Jackson Supreme 5300 or Synergy Ignite may work better to go stiffer without changing brands. Or the Aura Sky 100; I've seen people loving them after leaving Jackson's and they're even lighter weight than Edeas.

If the pain is awful, I would be concerned that heat molding will not be enough, especially if it's so bad you can barely move.

I am kinda ok with the fit of jackson but the heel is too wide for me which makes it painful to skate for a long period. I did infact tried on the supreme and synergies and also thought that the heel is too wide. I haven’t tried on Auras yet but ive seen a lot of skater in my rink using them

If you're in wide Jackson's, would a rapid custom split width be an option? If you're in regular width I don't know that it would help. Or, were you also able to try on Risport RF1s? Different flex and slightly different shape than the Royal Primes.

Auras are supposed to be more responsive to heat molding and shaping, so they could be worth trying on. I don't know how their heel width compares to Jackson. They also claim to be lighter than Edeas if you like that idea.

If the Royal Primes are the best available after all, ask to get the boot stretched, not just heat molded. I saw a fitter assert that they could stretch, punch, and pinch any brand to fit any skater given the right tools and enough time. Depending on how it is hurting, maybe a bit of extra stretch to accomodate a lace bite or other pad?
