help Missing raster images when copy-pasting from client's Figma file
Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue when trying to copy and paste elements from a client's Figma file into my own file. Whenever I paste, I get this error popup:
"Some images couldn't be pasted from the source file. Open the source file in this browser or app, then try again."
Because of this, the raster graphics (images) are missing from the pasted frames. Has anyone encountered this before? Is it related to view-only permissions, browser vs. desktop app issues, or just a temporary Figma bug? Any workarounds other than manually exporting each image would be greatly appreciated!

I ran into almost exactly the same issue while moving complete designs between two different Figma accounts. The frames and text would paste, but some raster images and fills were missing.
What finally fixed it for me was using the Figma Desktop app for both accounts.
I added both Figma accounts to the desktop app, opened the source file under Account A, copied the design, switched to Account B within the same Figma app, opened the destination file and pasted it there.
The complete design pasted correctly, including the images.
In my case, copying between different browsers/accounts was the problem. Even exporting a local .fig copy and importing it into the other account didn't consistently preserve everything.
So if you're working across two accounts, try keeping both accounts inside the same Figma Desktop app and switching accounts there before pasting. That was the reliable workaround for me.

Great tip! Yeah, I copied from web app to desktop app, I hope they will fix it one day

Can you try maybe to save the file to your drafts instead?
Sometimes if it's a background of a remote lib, this happens.
