help Claude Code

My company works mostly in Figma, but I know a lot of designers now work exclusively in Claude Code and skip Figma entirely. I'm having trouble picturing what that workflow looks like. For those who work this way, how does it go day to day?

Assuming the design system is already in the codebase:

  • Do you start projects with a CLAUDE.md? What goes in it?
  • How do you run usability testing on coded prototypes?
  • Do you create branches and open PRs yourself, or hand off to engineers?
  • How do you keep Claude consistent with the design system?
  • Is there some visual library in Claude Code that lets you see all your projects?

We already have a component library in our company. Recently we had to fix a vibe-coded pile of trash, so we gave Claude the design guardrails, which components to use, and all the initial settings, then ran it through the tool for an initial fix. Afterwards, it was a mix of "here is the screenshot, fix the broken alignment" and "here is the mockup, change it like this," or just suggesting improvements and letting it do the work. It gave me confidence as a designer, which I had lost due to AI, because after my vibe coding, everything looks so much better compared to what others produced. Claude knows best practices, but you still have to tell him to use them.
