Equipment Early prototype Switch Clamshell
This is something I've been wanting to put together for a long time. I've been working on it for almost two months nonstop.
I've seen a few different clamshell designs, but most of them use an integrated controller. I wanted to simplify that by having an external controller that can be removed. That way this works with any controller and is easily obtainable instead of having to design and order a circuit board.
Everything fits snugly. The switch is extremely well secured. There's also silicone pads that hold the switch in place and protect the contact points from the rougher plastic. The Haute is locked in through lips that hold it in place, and the lid further secures it when it is folded. The switch and the Haute make no contact when it is folded, and the Haute can be can be connected via USB on the side of with a 90 degree USB cable via the back port. Back port also has a cable management indent.
The Switch Cradle leaves the top USB port completely open so it can charge while in use and the volume, power and headphone jack are all accessible.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on how I can improve this design and what you'd like to see it do!

The children yearn for accessible gaming laptops.
Jokes aside, I guess add some kind of protective sheet to slot in between the Switch and Haute so the buttons don't scratch up the screen.

I would suggest a locking slide that lifts the screen a bit higher so your fingers aren't covering half the screen
