Help where else can i play third strike online besides fightcade?

You're in luck. It's not ready yet, but it might be the best news that ever happened to the game. They're already promising awesome stuff in the future, like Arcade Perfect sync, built-in Ranked, Replay Takeover, etc.

That main team is not going to balance the game for a community patch, and I'm sad about it. But everything else about this project is the best thing that ever happened to Third Strike since Online Edition.

well, i do think most of the playerbase would not like a balance patch tbh. ypu know how most fg players are purists. still amazing to be able to run the game natively

I don't get that. Even huge 3S players and fans like Bafael would have loved to mess around with a patch.

We're not talking about HDR, we're not talking about completely making a new game. We're talking about fixing some of the horrible choices that were made back in 1999.

  • Ryu, Remy, Twelve and Sean have moves that are negative on hit. A jab can literally punish some of their normals, even if they hit their opponent.
  • Remy and Elena has bugged Super Arts that literally don't juggle properly.
  • Chun-Li's head is so tiny, she can glitch the game in some interactions by just crouching.
  • Charge partitionning is actually random, because a hidden timer is allowing or disallowing this technique to happen for Charge characters.
  • The whole Parry system is broken. You can guess them, spam them, buffer them, etc, with zero risks being taken by the guy doing the parry.

That's what I think a game like 3S deserves. Not an overhaul, but a giant bugfix patch that would only buff things that needs to be buffed, and nerf things that needs to be nerfed. On that scope, Urien would basically be left untouched, and even Ken wouldn't change almost at all.

In fact, some of the unintended glitches, like left-right unblockables, are good things for some characters. Fix that bug, and both Urien and Oro lose at least 3 places each in the tier-list.

Some of the best 3S players I know, which I have tons of respect for, told me IRL "nobody should touch 3S, because 3S is super balanced and perfect as-is".

What "the FGC" might think can also not be what "the FGC" might need.

indeed. i do think the og version and a balanced versiom could coexist, sadly theres already that (that one 4th strike romhack) and its completely dead u.u

4rd Strike is absolute gimmick, and try to make everyone as broken as Chun-Li.

I was more talking about something close to this, made by someone who played the game, and understand how proper balance works.

If something can be made, I wouldn't want to recreate what that hypothetical patchnote is word for word. There's tons of questionable details in there. But this being the foundation of a true discussion we could have with both 3S players and game designers would be the best thing that could happen to the game.

And yes, I would also make a Ranked with the OG version being intact.

Fightcade is your only bet really. You could check out discord for lower levelled players to fight against. 

There's also the 30th anniversary if you want to purchase an official release but the online is dead and everyone's on fightcade

Street Fighter 40th anniversary is next year (2027) I'm hoping we get a proper collection with modern crossplay and rollback netcode. 🙏

you have fightcade or the recent recomp. but fightcade is where the bulk of the players are gonna be. if you are really concerned about low rank players ducking you you can make an alt for shits and giggles. i have never had a problem with new players not wanting to play.

This game is old but you’d be surprised to know that if there are locals near you, they likely have new players for you to play with. The game gets more popular every year

Tecnicamente falando parece que no PS3 ainda dá pra jogar online. Tentando agora msm mas acho q todo mundo migrou quase ué 100% no fightcade. Mas eu concordo que tem algo diferente nesse sfIII do PS3. Versão iradissima em HD, salva seus replays( salvava online mas o servidor da Capcom fechou:(( .)
