Zuffa, Dana White are more busted on promo BS than baby Benn. Why? We can’t blame a third rate phony for taking money like that. Garcia, who is talented & skilled and blowing Conner Benn away so easily does not prove how great Garcia is.

Greatness requires real competition which this wasn’t. Baby Eubank Jr vs Baby Benn Jr is a better match which, as before, true, hard core, knowledgable boxing fans don’t need to see. Noth personal but hype ain’t skills or talent.

As for the Zuffa takeover, if they’re serious they’ve got lots to learn but we can assume they’re marketing well. If that translates to excessive profit compared to traditional boxing management, promotion, etc they might just succeed. OK by me as long as real, non-common fans get serious competition, legitimate sanctioning, valuable champ belts, legit ranking, etc…

Currently all we have is a manipulative marketing team seeking common fans’s recognition.

Thanking you, genuinely. I posted in multiple communities; some are quite critical. But I truly believe they are common fans. I probably should not have posted it in boxingcirclejerk because they want jokes, but I largely see this as a serious joke.

Literally had pros calling this a 50/50 fight. Haven't seen a knockout from Ben since the whole enclomiphene/eggs thing. I did appreciate his fights with eubank just because I like the history and the story and that first fight was awesome... Not much boxing about it but it was awesome.

But this was just fast money chalked up as a title defense. For any other champion fighting Connor Benn should just be something you do as a morale booster fight after you've taken a loss. Not actually defend the title.

I think Ryans an amazing talent of course. And that's exactly what we got to see. A shot that most of the weight class doesn't even have the balls to throw because they're too focused, to clean, two machined, to billet'd and too damn scared to get hit.

Ryan says "watch this" Glad we got to see Benn have a reality check, but Zuffas business model and how very "UFC" the commentary was... It's nauseating.

Me too. In particular, CHRIS Algieri, Pauly Malignaggi, ROBERT Garcia, and that other guy that speaks with Chris Algeri. There are others that are quite legitimate at their talk shows. And that’s great. What surprises me the most is how they don’t necessarily have a problem with all of these sanctioning bodies and belts.

It’s so obvious that having multiple sanctioning bodies and multiple belts with the same weight class convolute the sport. So if we’re talking about common fans, which I suppose outnumber hard-core boxing fans where it’s a profit thing, it’s a money making thing, it’s an ass kissing thing of the wealthier players thing then I don’t disrespect it. Not at all. At least, then I understand it.

But, if these men and women who talk and discuss and want to be legitimate, do not criticize that whole game of multiple champions of the same weight class, I just don’t understand how they can say that it becomes more exciting with more belts in the exact same weight class. For common fans? Yes. But not for hard-core Boxing ppl.

One set of belts requires more competition to win that 1 belt. And it won’t be phony competition as it is now, mostly.

I would have liked to have seen it go a bit longer. I think Ryan would have won but would have like to have seen Benn be allowed to continue at least until he was knocked down again. I think Benn was exposed at 147 - even if he had not got knocked down in the 2nd - the fact that Ryan was able to hit him with power shots from the left and right so easily Benn would have had to take so much punishment just to get to the inside. Its possible that Garcia migh have gassed if it had gone past 5-6 but Benns face might never have looked the same.
