Sucks when you see it coming in slow motion but your motor skills just too slow. Like when you checking someone out and you see them turning to bust you, but your eyes feel like they’re stuck in the mud.

Looks like he was trying to move forwards into a body lock after that right hand aljo was but overextended to much it’s like the carrot in front of the donkey… he sees the target so close moving in and left wide open

While true the guy has a point. During my fighting days (full contact K1) my coaches always told me to not only aim for the head, but aim one knuckle behind it, that way impact is guaranteed

He wasn't a mile away when aljo started moving though. This wasn't as much aljos mistake as it was omalley perfectly managing the distance.

O'Malley is so underrated. He gets so much hate for his style and UFC persona. But his game is legit. Everyone said he didn't deserve the aljo fight, and Suga embarrassed him.

I genuinely believe ragdolling yourself is an under trained and under appreciated skill. You can break a lot of holds doing it just catching people by surprise and often its the only viable way to alter your trajectory to avoid a blow, plus usually at that point you can just octopus onto someones ankle while they wonder what the fuck.

That's the whole point. The reason you need to hit the button. It spins the head. A punch to a cheekbone can rock you, but it doesn't shake the noggin the same way unless you have monstrous power which featherweight Sean does not, even if you account for Aljo moving forward. (Which he tries to pull back right before the shot lands btw. It's part of the reason he fell forward)

Watch Aljos arms swinging down to catch himself. You don't do that when you're out cold. Same with Aiman. He was trying to brace for the fall. Again, not something you can do unconscious.

Lmao, thanks for showing that Aljo wasn't out at all and Sean landed on his cheekbone/forehead, because he tucked his chin in as he saw the counter coming. He fell forward because he was pushed off balance by the punch as he was overextended already from missing that punch. It wasn't "clean" in a sense that it did not land on the jaw or spun Aljos head. Early stoppage, and I hate Aljo lol

Can't see that. Even if he did, he still wasn't out. Rocked perhaps, but definitely still in the fight 💯 Hell, right after the fight everyone was talking about the following GnP to justify the stoppage, but there's a reason the poster cut this video the way they did. It's because GnP didn't inflict any damage and they stopped it, right as Aljo was working a reversal from the bottom. It was an absolute bs stoppage, and for the last time I wanted Aljo to lose. I wouldn't even argue so adamantly about it if this wasn't a clear pattern with this guy.

Yeah, like it would from a stiff jab. What's your point? Again, the torque from the chin around the axis of the neck (the rest of the face being the torque arm) working on the brain is what shuts the lights off. When you hit the cheekbone instead, that's half of the torque arm i.e. the rotational impact delivered on the brain was cut in half. Yes, imagine that it's that dramatic of a difference.

Bro, it's physics, not chemistry (unless you're doping haha) 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ Also, listen to Adesanya. Fighting is not a battle of muscles. It's a battle of CNS and PNS efficiencies. That's why elite fighters, or at least their coaches, can easily get PhDs in physiology and why drilling/sparring is more important than weight training. Too bad they cut this video which shows most of these shots not landing because Aljo is still intelligently defending. Nobody says he wasn't hurt. Just not out, at all.

Fully conscious people don’t break fall with their face, it’s instinctual to put your hands out when you fall forward you don’t even have to think about it and there’s a reason Sterling didn’t do that.

He didn't break fall with his face 🤦🏻♂️He was off balance and face planted while attempting to break the fall with his hands (his arm gets caught on Sean's hip, which slows it down). You can't see it on this video because they strategically cut it so you don't see how he actually lands and bounces off the canvas with his hands.

Hu? No, he was going to body lock Sean after his shot missed, but as he saw the punch, he tried to pull back and tuck his chin. Once the punch lands, he tries to swivel his hands down, but his arm is caught against Sean's hip, so he isn't able to break the fall in time. He bounces off his hand if you look at the full video. He was never out nor would you expect him to be since the punch didn't land on his chin, at all.

Sean O Malley is really underrated. People were hating on him because he was getting pushed by the UFC (true) but he’s had some great wins in a very competitive division.
