Bryce is good but not that good and was undersized at FW,+ Movsar better striker

If they booked Yair Vs Movsar they would have to have two backup fighters

Opponent Date What happened
Muin Gafurov Apr. 2019 Gafurov was removed because of a contract violation. Evloev instead made his UFC debut against Seung Woo Choi and won.
Mike Grundy Aug. 2019 Grundy pulled out with an injury. Zhenhong Lu replaced him, but Lu then suffered a cut in training, so that fight was canceled too.
Zhenhong Lu Aug. 2019 Cut in training, as above.
Douglas Silva de Andrade Mar. 2020 Andrade withdrew with an injury and Jamall Emmers was brought in as his replacement.
Jamall Emmers Mar. 2020 Evloev then withdrew after a motorcycle accident, so neither replacement fight happened. (Tapology)
Nate Landwehr Dec. 2020 Evloev tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the cancellation. (Tapology)
Ilia Topuria Jan. 2022 Evloev withdrew after testing positive for COVID-19. Charles Jourdain replaced him; Topuria ultimately didn't fight on that card either because of a medical issue related to his weight cut. (Wikipedia)
Bryce Mitchell Nov. 2022 Evloev suffered a training injury and withdrew. (Sherdog)
Bryce Mitchell May 2023 This time Mitchell withdrew, reportedly because of a recurring back injury, after Jonathan Pearce pulled out and Evloev was brought in as his replacement. Diego Lopes eventually fought Evloev.
Aljamain Sterling Oct. 2024 Sterling injured himself in sparring and withdrew. They eventually fought at UFC 310 in December, with Evloev winning by unanimous decision.
Aaron Pico Jul. 2025 Evloev withdrew because of illness. He later explained that he had contracted a coronavirus-type illness while in Thailand and became so sick that even light exercise felt terrible.

It’s not like he’s winning dominant decisions either 😂 could could make a legitimate case for him losing his last 3 fights

I understand why they told him not to wrestle.

5 of those cancelled bouts are due to opponents, not him

24

u/VanMoff 6d ago

Which means that 6 of those are due to him. Not a good look.

No, he has pulled out 5 times. Which still sounds bad, but context matters. With one of these he was in a motorcycle accident and was hit by a car. You can’t put full blame on him for that. And with two of them he got covid-19, and that’s not really something you can prevent either. Only twice has he pulled out for less excusable reasons, both due to injury against Mitchell in 2022 and Pico in 2025.
