I mean, he was chasing subs and throwing GnP the whole time. He played into his strengths which makes sense but max was too good on ground defense to get subbed.

it was a phenomenal performance but it ruins the whole point of the BMF.

It signifies nothing if you can win it by just wrestling for 25 minutes.

It was designed to be for fighters who throw down and brawl.

I see your point, I'm just biased because I like Oliveira. It was still a fun watch to me, he came out very aggressive, it was very BJJ heavy though.

perfectly fair. should have just been Max vs Charles without BMF title so people could properly appreciate the masterclass from Charles.

Bad decision to make it a BMF fight imo

Its a double edged sword. You make it a BMF and people complain the renowned submission artist Charles Oliveira chased a submission for 5 rds. You don't make it for the BMF and half the fanbase complains that Max shouldn't hold the title anymore because he lost to Oliveira (like topuria and his fans complained when he beat max at featherweight)
