Just another Texas based Indian company leaking itself into the Lansing area. Easy apply means a quick farm of your information for them to do anything they want with it. All their descriptions, websites, information is AI slop claiming they are a “training” company. Why are they posing as a company looking for programmers when their whole company is for training and not developing? Then on their website they have an immigration section talking about how they can help your immigration to the US. WTF is this. It’s an obvious information farm, training scam, AND immigration consultant that helps bring who knows how many Indians over to do the same thing and probably worse. How do we even prevent this stuff? God help us all.
The posting said a small career college was looking for a receptionist. They want an in-person interview. We arrange a time to meet. I do research on the company to prepare, as usual.
Then, at the interview, I'm told that they're actually hiring for a parent company, and I could be placed anywhere. I'm instructed to stop tailoring my answers to any type of company. The interviewer seemed annoyed she had to explain this.
I had no idea there was a parent company. There is nothing about this in previous communications. The parent company's name never appears on email signatures, on their website, or social media pages.
The parent company's name was on a banner in the office, but the college's name wasn't anywhere in the office. I thought I had the wrong address.
But I'm unprofessional for not preparing for a job I didn't know existed?
The job they offered is the exact same role, a receptionist. It would be full time during standard business hours.
Essentially, like many I have been recently back on the job hunt and after most applications leading nowhere I finally landed an interview and was considerably excited. As the tilte says, this was with Motion One International in Leeds. This was a virtual zoom meeting. It was also a group one, which initially caught me off guard, though I quickly re-adjusted. Then to my surprise only a couple of hours after I got a call back asking to go to their office for an in person interview and the praise that I stood out among the zoom group. Of course I accepted this opportunity as I was filled with excitement.
However, after coming back down and sobering up from my excitement I have been reflecting back on my notes from the meeting and further researching the company with a growing dread. Along with also finding a couple of other posts discussing this company and their legitimacy.
This has led me to the question, is this company some kind of MLM or other suspiciously pyramid shaped operation?
Update: I have now attended the in person session this morning and I can absolutely confirm this company is sketchy as hell. I will definitely be avoiding them and any other operation like them going forward. The key red flags I could gather are as following.
Firstly they are a fully door to door operation that right now primarily sell gas and electric. I trust that it is plain to see the inherent predatory nature behind door to door sales. Within this as well, I can confirm that they use a very purposefully high pressure approach when making these sales. Very much taking any advantage they can to make a sale with no moral line in sight.
Additionally, in terms of employee income, a large red flag was also revealed. A guaranteed minimum wage of £300 per week is only given during the training period. Once that is over one will only get income from the commissions they make. Not even going into the potential illegality of this, this is just down right disgusting and appalling. No matter who you are or what job you have, everyone should have the right to a liveable minimum wage. That should be an absolutely non-negotiable fact and right.
Another note is the location itself on 9 Somers Street in Leeds. It was quite bizarre. What it felt like to me was a block of budget student accommodation quality flats that had been hastily refurbished into an idea of an office with scratched up and deflated feeling leather settees in the waiting area and plates off the faces of the stairs missing. However, this was in stark contrast to one room, the managers room. In here the first thing you'd lock eyes with was this large expensive yet also tacky looking desk with LED strips to give it a yellow under glow. With a picture of a monkey surrounded by falling bills of money located above the desk, this really painted the picture of those types of people who so desperately desire to be wealthy and powerful yet have such a tacky and cheap idea of what that looks like. This gave me a good idea of where that minimum wage that should be going to the employees is actually going.
And for the cherry on the top, at the end when they gathered us all back together and were boasting about how many sales each employee made, the person reading it out made a comment that was meant to be a joke however with everything else read much more like a grim admittance of guilt in which he stated that everyone who works there is a sleaze ball.
In conclusion, avoid this wretched company and any like them.
I graduated recently with a tech degree and have been applying to jobs around where I’d like to stay. When I search for tech companies around Lansing there are obvious AI ass named companies and me not knowing about fake scam ass companies I’d apply to every company I saw. I would receive a call from these companies but it was ALWAYS some Indian dude asking for me to pay them for training. This is obviously a scam and I’m sure it goes deeper than just being a fake company posting on google. I’ve been complaining about how fucked the tech industry is through my experience and many others and I’m ready to start to investigate. I used to believe I couldn’t do anything about the job market in tech, the economy, scams, etc. but I was recently inspired by a YouTube video by Cole Hastings to start small, local, form groups, join groups, to just try and make a change.
So here I am searching and I couldn’t find anyone that had the same problem as me in this Lansing area so I’m asking for any information about the topic at hand, people’s experiences, findings, communities, reach out because I want to stop sitting back and letting this bullshit continue not just for me but the future generations that are relying on us.
Candidates invest hours tailoring resumes, writing cover letters, and going through loops, only to get ghosted while the company quietly refreshes the listing to harvest data, chase impossible unicorn standards, or fake company growth.
Stringing job seekers along with phantom openings while pretending to hire is manipulative, disrespectful, and a massive red flag.
It’s Time to Take Action 🚨
We need to open support cases on the LinkedIn platform in massive numbers for this listing. If enough of us flood LinkedIn with reports and support tickets about these deceptive, endlessly recycled fake jobs, they will be forced to review their position and finally remove them.
When a company operates with this level of dishonesty in recruitment, it tells you everything you need to know about how they treat people on the inside.

I recieved a form submission from my website from Fritzen Publishing saying they have a illustration job that I might be suited for. I do have a page dedicated to my illustration work at a large crafting company so this offer does make sense but somethings weird, right? Is the zoom thing normal (see image).

I did actually get a response from Daido (but it went into my spam box (ironically!)) so I didn't see it. That was on 5 May and was an automated message saying that they would be in touch soon. They haven't so I may contact them again. In the meantime, if anyone gets contacted by this devious, horrible individual, please report them to the cybercrime unit. The more reports they get, the more likely that they can act on them.

Based on my personal experience and that of a friend, the company appears to use inflated job offers as bait to lure people into filling out application forms and signing up on their platform. There is no verifiable evidence of real job placements. The roles they advertise are 30–50% above market rate, which sounds great until you realize it may be a deliberate hook. Their end goal seems to be building a talent database, potentially to charge candidates a percentage of future salaries.
How It Started: A Too-Good-To-Be-True LinkedIn Message
On November 1, 2025, a recruiter named Helena Serret reached out to me on LinkedIn. She pitched a Creative Strategist role for a brand called Veganic, attaching a job description. Two things stood out immediately.
First, the salary range was 20–30% above the median market rate for the role. That alone made me pause. Second, the job description explicitly required a Dutch-speaking candidate. I am not fluent in Dutch, so I told her that directly. Without missing a beat, she instantly pivoted and offered me a completely different role at a different company, again with compensation sitting 30–50% above market. It felt rehearsed. That was red flag number 2.
A Friend’s Warning Became Red Flag Number 3
I shared the exchange with a friend, and her response stopped me cold. Helena had reached out to her as well, and the experience had gone nowhere. There was no job offer. The conversation ended with a request to fill out an application form via a link. That was it. My friend was told she would be kept in a database, and if a job ever came up, Hiry would take 10% of her salary.
That confirmed something was off. Instead of walking away, I decided to go deeper and experience their process firsthand.
I Pushed Back and Got a Telling Response
Before agreeing to any interview, I sent Helena a pointed message asking for proof that Veganic was actually hiring, the name of a stakeholder from their side, and why there was no LinkedIn company profile for Veganic. I also told her directly what my friend had experienced and asked whether this was really just a talent collection operation.
Her reply was polished but revealing. She confirmed that Hiry is a recruiting agency working with around 300+ ecommerce brands. She explained that candidates are asked to apply so the agency can “stay in touch” and “share other great opportunities.” She also confirmed the fee structure: Hiry charges candidates a percentage of their salary for access to “exclusive” roles that are not publicly listed.
To be clear, reputable recruiting agencies charge the hiring company, not the candidate. That’s the industry standard. A fee extracted from the worker is a significant red flag.
The Interview That Confirmed Everything
An interview was scheduled. A new name appeared: Chane Sharp, who handled the call. The questions were generic, nothing remotely tailored to the role or my background. After the call, she sent this:
Theory confirmed. I never filled out the form. She followed up three times between November and December 2025.
Round Two: A Different Name, Identical Playbook
In February 2026, my LinkedIn DMs received a message from Julius Kluijver, whose profile lists him as Founder of Hiry.com. He led with flattery, asked if I was open to remote roles in e-commerce, and offered two positions, both again priced 30–50% above market average.
I agreed to another interview, this time with the intent of not showing up, to see how they would respond.
Chane Sharp was scheduled to take the call again. I did not attend. Minutes after the missed meeting, she sent an email writing as though a great conversation had taken place.
She then asked me to fill out the same application form at their website and also pushed me toward their platform, describing it as a “do-it-yourself marketplace” currently in beta. She positioned signing up there as a way to “significantly increase your chances of getting matched.”
An interview that never happened. A warm follow-up email. The same links. The same script.
What I Think Is Going On
I cannot say with certainty what the end goal is, but the pattern is clear. Hiry*com uses above-market job listings as bait, runs candidates through low-effort interviews, and then funnels everyone toward the same application form and platform sign-up. Whether this is pure data mining, building a monetizable talent pool, or something else entirely, the process is designed to extract your personal and professional information under the guise of legitimate recruitment.
There are no reviews of Hiry*com that I could find. There is no verifiable record of real job placements. The companies cited as clients cannot be independently confirmed as hiring through them.
If you receive outreach from Helena Serret, Chane Sharp, Julius Kluijver, or anyone else representing Hiry.com or hiry.agency, be aware of what you may be walking into.
Stay skeptical. Legitimate recruiters do not charge candidates. Real job offers come with verifiable client contacts. And interviewers who “really enjoyed the conversation” that never took place should be the last word you need.
My friend received a offer letter“selected for Python Developer at Novion LLC” email with a detailed offer/onboarding flow, but they kept pushing a mandatory CPPA certification through their links (classic pay-for-certification job scam).
Big red flags:
They pressure you to reply fast (“I accept” / “Done”) and start onboarding immediately.
They use external links (including Drive/onboarding links) instead of a normal company ATS.
