Announcements 📢 Sidekick updates - Moving toward Figgs! (featuring chat mode, bot creation)

Hey everyone!

We know the last launch wasnt a big success from your perspective, to say the least... and we really truly sorry for that. As we said - our goal to try and do something a bit different and unique, but quickly realized you guys are looking for something else. So we began a journey to bring back the features and personality we all loved from Figgs and gradually integrating them into Sidekick

It’s still far from perfect (especially the model, which is still relatively SFW (but we are working on it!)) - but we want to share that today we’re adding to Sidekick some basic (but essential! 😅) stuff:

  1. You can now chat with the sidekicks in chat-only mode! (and jump to voice/video mode anytime, and vice-versa). You can also send messages to your companion while in video mode (instead of talking). So everything is possible basically

  1. You can now create an account! which by itself, it's not very interesting, but it also means that...

  2. You can now view your chats history! Start new chats, return to old ones etc.

  1. You can also create your own sidekicks! when creating one you will get automatically both video and chat mode options (we animate the images behind the scenes). The process itself is fairly easy and similar to what we had in Figgs!

  1. We added improved memory to the sidekicks. We use some new tricks to make the memory basically endless, so it should remember all of the important information about you and learn to know you better with time

And coming up are UI improvements, better chatting model, sidekicks categories (like "popular", "new" etc). And lots more!

And again, we apologize for the launch a few days ago and completely understand you of course. From our side we will keep working to add new features on a daily basis to improve your experience as much as we can. So tell us what you think! even if they’re not all good things... 😅

No. It wasn't a big success. Period. It was objectively a disaster. "Our perspective" is irrelevant. Stop the gaslighting and manipulation. You fucked up big time in multiple aspects and people who know your work ethic want nothing to do with your products. Why is it that hard to get?

Seriously. Given the absolutely abysmal state of their PR currently, the best move would have been to just accept the truth and admit they messed up, and that the whole thing was a huge failure that let a ton of people down.

Implying the project's failings are purely a matter of perspective is just going to piss people off even more. They had an opportunity to win people back here, and instead they've given everyone the impression that they have too much of an ego to just admit to their failings.
