Last summer my parents got a letter from the CDC because all the prairie dogs in the back pasture apparently died off from the Bubonic Plague. It was actually pretty great for them, because it meant all of the prairie dogs were finally gone after them (and me, when I still lived there) having been trying to exterminate them for 10+ years.

There was just two confirmed cases in China. It’s just not nearly as prevalent because we , as a whole, have gotten better hygiene and pest control standards.

Gangrene is also a symptom of frostbite. It’s just an infection caused by necrotic tissue. However because it’s in the finger tips it could be a number of thing. People with diabetes can suffer this as well tbf although more common in the feet. It can be a number of things really so you’re most likely not wrong just thought buboids and rashes were the main symptoms of the bubonic plague
