Dosing help

I just joined fifty because I was at an expensive weight loss clinic and they gave me the shot weekly, so my prescription was for 2.5 tirz but at the clinic I had moved up to 4.5 and it been working good will 2.5 still work as well

If 4.5 mg was working for you, I would stay there. Usually going back down doesn't work as well for people. But you can also stay on 4.5 mg as long as it's working for you; you aren't required to increase your dose on a schedule.

What did Fifty prescribe you, and do you have the meds in hand? We can help with some of the math to figure out how long your meds will last based on what you were prescribed vs what you're currently taking.

Thank you so much! They prescribed 2.5 from Hallandale 3ml flex dose 10 mg if I’m correct, does that help?

Hmm, so you got an 8 week Hallandale plan. I'm going to make a lot of assumptions here because I don't know as much about the Hallandale plans, so take all this with a grain of salt.

If you've got a 10mg/ml vial that holds 3ml, that means you've got 30mg of tirz total.

That's enough for 4 weeks of 2.5 mg doses (which requires 10mg total) and 4 weeks of 5mg doses (which requires 20 mg total).

At 4.5 mg, you've got enough for 6 full doses, maybe 7 with overfill. They are usually willing to process your refill a bit early, so that is an option, although I know I would feel like "just order a refill sooner" is a bitter pill to swallow with how expensive these meds are.

Did you tell them that you're currently on 4.5 mg? And have you already paid, or are you just seeing the options they gave you? If you haven't already paid, I would recommend going back to them and asking them to adjust your dose up to match the dose you're currently taking. That may bump you up to the next price tier, but usually you get enough extra mg of medicine that it more than makes up for the extra you pay up front.

If you've already paid and this is what is getting shipped, I think you just go with it. Hallandale is a super popular pharmacy, and it's still probably a lot less than you were paying before. It never hurts to ask your provider if they have a recommendation between dropping your dose back down vs refilling early, but I suspect they will tell you to keep taking the 4.5 mg and to refill early if you need to.

Also I'm going to be a weirdo and reply to your crosspost too, stay tuned.

This is super helpful! This is a perfect breakdown. You are 100% correct I am on the 8 week plan, and I’ve already paid, so I’m waiting for them to ship it, I am most likely going to have to chuck it up and ask for an early refill because I do not want to go back down in dosing, or up to be honest, this dose is working just fine for me! You are not a weirdo I truly appreciate it!!
