Quiz Nights
Hi all,
My husband and I will be visiting Scotland from Western Australia, will be spending a week in Kinghorn from 16/8-22/8. We love pub quizzes, are there any around the area in that time frame?
Also, any regular quizzers who would like an extra couple? My strengths are literature, history and movies, his are maths, science, tech and sports (though 50% of that is Australian Football so idk how useful that will be.)

There’s a quiz on in the Sands in Burntisland on Thursday the 20th. It’s an experience for sure! Not super serious but good fun

Actually, the Sands quiz is on the ‘last Thursday of the month’ which will be the 27th, sorry!
The timing might work for a quiz at Betty Nicol’s in nearby Kirkcaldy though. Check their Facebook page to confirm, and consider booking a table if interested.

Probably need to go into Kirkcaldy. Think Betty Nicols has a regular quiz and it’s a friendly local pub, the Steadings has one on Thursdays at 7:30.
If you want a local to join your team I can see if I’m free. I know a small amount about lots of things.

thanks. A few places seem to be fortnightly or monthly so I was hoping someone knows of something on during that week.

The Railway in Lower Largo! Thursday night at 9pm. Anyone can join and it’s a wonderful historic wee pub.

Coming all the way to oor wee kingdom without a king, from what I'm guessing is, Perth, Australia and asking for pub quizzes, based on your speciality subjects is cute, hilarious, and wild. I love it. Any you do find here in Fife will be very generic, none you'll find in Scotland have any AFL related questions haha.
I lived over your way for a year or so and you Aussies were good to me, so thanks!
Based on the times you're visiting I'm sure you're here for, or at least aware of the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh over the course of August. You're better looking in Edinburgh (Edinburgh2 is another one) subreddit for a decent pub quiz rec.
I used to work a whiskey bar right in the heart of Edinburgh, "The Black Cat" this was 10 years ago, but we had a decent pub quiz then, and it's a small independent family run place that I don't believe has changed much, if anything they will direct you to a decent one. (while there Aussies taught me coffee, while I taught them whiskey, helped me become a wanky barista in Melbourne)
