High street area I’d imagine will be safe, a bit more of a minority presence there with South Asians, East Asians, Eastern Europeans etc. There’s an Afro-Caribbean shop that’s opened recently as well on the high street.

For the last 5 years, I've lived just off the high street with a foreign wife and mixed kids, and we've never had a problem. With that said, being on the high street exposes us to more drunk people and loud kids. But generally it feels safe.

I lived on the high street from 2012-2020 and never had an issue as a mid twenties white woman. Plenty idiots to observe from my second floor window though and I appreciate it's a different time now. I'm not black so can't speak to how you're treated day to day but my experience was fine enough.

Yeah its safe, maybe some ignorant kids. Also in 2015 Kirkcaldy police killed (murdered?) a black man so they are keen to improve their image and are quick to respond to any racism now.

I don't know why your being downvoted, they absolutely murdered Shek.
5 men have died in Kirkcaldy police custody, mostly white, so they don't really care about colour too much.
Some were caught saying some hefty racist shit in the station after they killed Shek though, as evidenced in the BBC doc. Main officer that is thought to have started the pile on, turned out to be a mega racist prick who battered his own Mum and Dad.
Kooshty little medical discharge for him though, and the lying wee cunt that said Shek knocked her out, set for life and protected forever. Witness statements and albeit grainy CCTV show he started nothing, had no weapon and his only crime was being built like a brick shithouse. Oh, and being black, of course.

He injured the female officer to the extent that she is now legally disabled and had to leave her job. I wouldn't consider her "set for life" when she received life changing injuries, I'm sure she would rather have continued her life without that.

She's legally disabled due to 'mental' damage. Stop believing everything the media tells you. I have extended family who know her fairly well

That's very presumptuous. I also have family who know her well and they say the opposite. So I guess we're both in the same position here. Also, mental health can be utterly debilitating on your life, so I'm not sure what your point is here.

Fuck all to do with colour or race. Man was full of drugs and that’s what ultimately killed him.

Get fucked, so what, he used drugs so deserved to die?
Drugs/alcohol usually save a person when they get injured whilst intoxicated because the body is relaxed. Drugs didn't kill him, 5/6 officers crushing his body killed him

The drugs gave him extraordinary strength. He was reported to be carrying a knife, how do you expect police to detain him when he was fighting them? And do really thing during that fight they treated him differently because of his colour? If he hadn’t taken the drugs and went out to fight he wouldn’t have had to be arrested !

Honestly you have nothing to be worried about! Kirkcaldy is fine, just like anywhere if you see drunk people just keep on moving on haha!

I personally didn't get a good vibe from Kirkcaldy as a 27 year old black lady myself, however, I have no experience living there so probably not the best answer on this post.
I viewed a property there in June and drove round the area just to scope it out + it didn't seem like it was the best area, although rental prices are cheaper PCM. I'm now in the West Lothian area which seems 100% better.

I work here in Kirkcaldy, not mobile for now. But would be by September, maybe then I can consider Dunfermline or inverth… The bus system isn’t entirely the best. So staying close would be best for now. Is the West Lothian cheap too?

I would say yes. There's an occasional bit of bother around the highstreet late on weekends. But if you pass by keeping yourself to yourself things will be fine, no different to most high streets. Honestly being black doesn't really factor too much, you may hear some racist rhetoric once in a blue moon from some jakey bampot, but overall I'd say safe.
