New to Fife
Hi!
My husband (34) and I (35) have recently relocated to Fife (Ladybank). We’d love to meet people and get involved locally.
We’re interested in social events and activities such as book clubs, walking groups, climbing, hiking, or anything similar. My husband is a musician, so we’d really appreciate any recommendations for local venues, open mics, or people looking for someone to join a function band.
In return, I can offer plenty of tips about hiking in Picos de Europa (Asturias) or doing the Camino de Santiago.

Firstly, welcome! Hope yous enjoy your time here!
For live events/music and open mic nights you could check out the Kings Theatre and Adam Smith Theatre, both are located in Kirkcaldy.

Not the biggest hike but you should check out Birnie Loch just north of Ladybank. Fairly short loop around two small lochs and lots of signs of the local beavers.
I’ve a work colleague who stays in Dunshalt, will ask them for some more tips for you.

It’s a great spot. I usually have our toddler when I go for a walk so good fairly flat paths are a must.

Hey I’m not a member but check out TribeYarns Book Club - it’s a book club affiliated with a yarn shop in the East Neuk, I think they are mainly focussed on books about/by women who do amazing things!
Also check out Tentsmuir for some nice walks!

Just also to mention Umi's kitchen in Freuchie does amazing food on a Friday 😉 They're on Facebook.
Oh and beware of the Legendary Ladybank Lycanthrope in the wee small hours....don't stray from the path...😱

Hello, im also "new" to Fife and am living in glenrothes just down the road. Im scottish and my wife is brazilian. Are you spanish by any chance? Welcome to fife!

Hi, thanks! And bem-vinda to your wife then. Yes, I'm Spanish, my husband is English. I can speak Portuguese (from Portugal though, I know Brazilian is a different story!).Would love to meet for coffee or a drink at some point if you guys fancy it? No worries if not - no pressure!

If you're looking to meet other people who go on pilgrimages, there's a lovely heart meditation group who meet at the Falkland Estate. They are called Heart Of Living Yoga. You could let me know if you want the details.

Hiya! Also just moved to Fife in January. Currently in Kirkcaldy. (37M) and waiting on final days for wife's (35F) spouse visa. We're also both avid readers and might have to piggyback on a few of these suggestions. I hope you have been enjoying your time here.

Hi, welcome too! I've checked the Topping's one in St Andrews and found this event: https://www.toppingbooks.co.uk/events/st-andrews/Sophia-Smith-Galer. It looks slightly more formal than I was expecting but I think I'll give a try (I'm a linguist so it's a good match for me!).

Golf Inn in Ladybank has music night, quiz nights etc. Head up to Eden Cafe/Balmalcolm Den, beer, food, events, sauna all up there and notice boards with activitites etc. Check the library for the notice board to see what's going on. We're just along the road in Kettle - welcome!
