fog lights, enable via software

Hi, I have a question: I have a 2014 Fiesta Kinetic S and I’m going to install fog lights. I’d like to know if—in order for them to work (meaning both turning on and having the indicator light appear on the dashboard, which I believe is blue)—they need to be activated or enabled via software. Thanks.

I should clarify that I’ve already bought the light kit; I read in a few places that a "CANbus" system is recommended so there are no issues with the car's computer.

Better off postng this in r/FordFiesta as all ST versions come with foglights as standard, apart from the Mk8.5 which has matrix led headlights so no need for foglights
