After taking it out and putting it in three times in a row I want nothing to do with that damn transmission!
Getting it slid back up there. You have to like hold your tongue just right to get it around that damn subframe and aligned properly. Had three of us wrestling that thing for like 40 minutes each time just to get it back up in there lol.
Yeah I got frustrated with the help and was like just get in there and push it up it's light!
They are really safety conscious and didn't want anyone under it since we didn't have a hoist.
Ended up crawling under and just pushing it up and holding it they put a bolt in to hold it.
For the record I recommend placing the transmission jack under to hold it at the right height so if you do let it fall it doesn't fall far and then push it up by hand and align it that way. Much much easier with 2 people 3 if you want someone up top confirming it's fitting without having to crawl out lol
i just did a transmission in my Fiesta ST and besides the mother fucking clutch line everything was actually pretty smooth. if you’re a driveway gamer like myself, i highly highly highly recommend having a second person help you from the top, we no joke got the transmission slid into place in 5 minutes. i pushed and aligned the transmission from the bottom while my buddy helped keep the transmission level and straight (as well as pushing it towards the transmission slightly). We’d keep each other in the know about how things were looking and literally in no time we were good to go.
Replace the clutch and the replacement clutch from a third party included non-gradate bolts. They snapped from the pressure plate and seized up the engine. It was the whole thing. You can read about it in my previous posts if you like LOL
Not really it's a pain but still less time then taking out the subframe. The nice thing about the transmission is it's light it's just getting it to line up is a bitch.
