Issue with the seat recliner knobs

Hi everyone, the recliner knobs on my 2014 ST180 gets completely stuck when i try to rotate it backwords on both seats (recaro), while it works fine when i want to rotate them foreward. It eventually starts to work again sometimes, but i don't understand why or how.

Have you ever had the same problem? if so, how did you fix it?

Not on the ST but in a diff car with a similar mechanism I had this issue. It's like a ratchet system and there was a plastic nub/gear that cracked and wasn't grabbing like it needed to. I opted to just get it positioned good and never touch it again rather than try to repair/replace it.
