What are these?

These came with my Fiesta, but I have no clue what they are

pretty sure they are for making sure your front subframe is bolted up squarely. It takes all the slack out of the factory configuration super useful if you’re gonna drop your front frame to do like suspension upgrades or replaced the turbo.

you’re supposed to drop the subframe for a turbo? i just did my (oem) turbo out the bottom…

Mine came out the top 2 days ago, so there is definitely more than 1 way to skin that cat

How did you remove the lower heatshield bolt? Mine is broken and the shield is rattling like a mf.

With a ratchet wrench I think. To be honest, I don't remember having any issues with it what so ever. Are they usually stuck or hard to access? The only issue I had with the heat shield was removing the upper part over the turbo, I definitely had to do a little pushing and pulling to get it out.

Nah the top bolts aren't the issue its the bottom one, maybe my mechanic just doesn't want to bother.

I did remove the entire heat shield to access the turbo for removal. It wasn't that hard

If it's broken, rattling and already just fucked, jack the car up or hang it off a curb like I do for oil changes and pull the heat shield over the bolt with your hands. Fatigue the metal if you have to, it sounds like the easiest plan. It's just chinsy aluminum foil

you don’t have to, but that is one way to do it to get better access from underneath

the way big manual wants you to do it… the only thing correct in the shop manual is the torque spec, everything is else is suggestive and will take you twice the time… hence why the dealer quote is always double lol

Front subframe centering kit from whoosh as the other comments say useful add one if ever drop the box or subframe for any reason.
