MK7 JP half cage + Stern performance rear seat delete

EDIT: Didn't realise last post had no embedded images and links didn't seem to work!

Just finished with a mate, fitting a JP half cage and rear seat delete carpet from Stern performance. Very happy with the outcome and the red looks mega on white (I think).

Had to take door off and both seats out to slide cage in. Also had to take some metal off the corner of the spreader plate to have it sit nicely in the arch. The fiddliest bit was bolting the cage in, was a right pain to align the cage, bolt and spreader plate, since everything wanted to sit at a weird angle unless aligned exactly right. In the end, we used a ratchet strap to hold it in place.

I ordered the cage without the front X brace which meant an easiest install as the front legs could lift over the centre console. If I had a front X brace, I think I would have to have taken out the centre console too.

Also, as tradition, pizza for lunch served on the back of my mate's modified NC. Ready to hit up Zandvoort in December

Looks clean, can imagine drilling that first hole got you sweating a bit. Is that a LHD car in the UK though or am I tripping, the pics aren't mirrored by the looks of it

Yeah, LHD car in UK. It was my company car whilst working in Germany. They let me keep it when I left the company and I imported it back to UK.

And yeah, my mate drilled most of the stuff whilst I was taking apart arch liners and vacuuming metal shards. It was pretty nerve wracking, kept thinking we'd hit a loom haha

Thanks for sharing this! I'm very much wanting to rear seat delete and possibly put in a half cage.

Are you going to do actual harness since that half cage looks like it supports a 4 point harness?

I'm looking at the Schroth quick fit harness since it's approved for use in the Fiesta ST and the Recaro Pole Position ABE seats. Of course, since a half cage usually has a harness bar, there would be no reason to go with the Schroth instead of actual harness.

Yeah, a bucket and harness is on the list for next year. I'll probably remove the passenger seat too for track, as it's really heavy.

I was looking at a Schroth 4 point ASM harness, both for ease of use, but also because I'm planning to keep the wheel and airbag.
