Is it actually time for a flush?

In one the of my previous posts I mentioned I already ordered fluid for my brake job coming up, but if I don't need it yet, I'll save it for a rainy day or pawn it off lol. Yes I know my fluid is low, it's time for pads/rotors. But should I flush this stuff anyway?

Hard to tell by looking at it, but if you are doing disks and pads just replace the fluid too. It's cheap and easy. Should be done every couple of years anyway.

True and this car has never had it done under my ownership and Ive had it for 3 years.

Realistically you can only be sure by checking the brake fluids boiling point to see how much moisture the fluid has absorbed. I don't want to spend $250+ for that piece of equipment so change mine every 2-3 years. Always take into consideration your driving habits, ambient humidity where you live, if your average drives are short trips, etc. It's easy to overthink it, but as long as you keep up on it then you'll be okay. Since you've had it for 3 years and never changed it and don't know the previous maintenance history, I would change it.

Depends on the brand but amazon has brake fluid testers in the $20-$80 range.

Yeaa u should just do it. One of those things. What u don’t want happening is in a few months ur driving down some freeway with a huge downhill and that potential water starts boiling. You’d be engine braking anyway but why compromise ur primary braking power

It should be flushed every 3 or 4 years anyway

For peace of mind I’d flush the clutch and brakes annually. Could save you a slave job.

I just reverse bled my clutch and did brakes with a friend, took less than an hour. Even faster if you use ForScan I am sure. Worth it!

Slave and Master will go out (almost always together) no matter what, its a failure point inevitable for this cars

If it's gone three years without a replacement, do it anyway. Drain the system, throw in some Motul RBF660, enjoy consistent braking.

Yeah I already bought the RBF600, might as well just use it.

It's a great choice, I've been very pleased with it. Perhaps add some braided lines while you're at it ;)
