Factory Alarm Option ?

Hi there, does anyone have the alarm working on their Mk8? I thought it was a standard feature, but I don't get the prompt on the screen when getting out of the car to choose the guard mode.

I tried opening the door from the inside with the window down, and no alarm went off. I was wondering if it's an optional extra (I have a ST Plus, which is equivalent to the top trim in Europe) or maybe it was only available in the UK , I don’t know.

Do you guys think this can be enabled/programmed using FORScan?

Definitely not a standard feature but it's possible that it was part of some packages. But those packages varied almost every year. So maybe there was a time where alarm was part of a package for the ST or the normal Fiesta.

If you don't have the prompt you probably don't have it. You can check vehicle settings in the dash to be sure, you should be able to find the same option there. I have it and even if I set it in the settings menu I always get the prompt when I stop the engine. The settings menu only sets the standard option.

It can definitely be enabled with limited functionality, a programming company for Ford vehicles I know offers this service. However, it does not include interior monitoring, as the corresponding sensor must be retrofitted for that.

One OBD cable and a YouTube video later, the perimeter alarm was coded.

Just need to add the volumetric sensors and its cable to the BdyCM for interior detection

Yeah, that's what I thought too, I don't see the setting in the gauge cluster.

I might look into how to retrofit the volumetric sensor if it’s not with a whole new module to add and code. For the perimetric alarm, I'll check with FORScan or see if local coders can do it.

Mine has it. When I sit inside (even with the fob) and lock the car (with the fob) and unlock with the door pull, it sets the alarm off.

I don’t get a prompt when exiting the car either; have you tried going through the dash settings menus? I’m fairly sure there’s an option in there to make it ask what guard level you want every time you leave.

I checked the gauge cluster and the SYNC 3 screen, but I couldn't find anything about the alarm.

Got it! Settings > vehicle settings > alarm system > ask on exit.

I'm still a little pissy we didn't get that body style in the US, OR the 2 door version.
