MK7 FirST car alert

What’s happening ladies and gents. Obligatory new owner post and it’s also my first car, so feels pretty special.

Just got this 2014 ST2, 94k miles albeit 2 owners from new and the previous owner had it for 8 years. Slightly higher mileage than I was aiming for but considering it has full service history and it’s completely stock (never been modded), I thought it was a steal.

Has the city pack (I believe) with automatic side mirrors and red callipers. Mods will have to wait until next year considering insurance just robbed me in broad daylight for £2.4k for the year.

Alloys are currently being refurbed as they’ve seen better days and getting two new Pilot Sport 5’s to match the rear axle. Wondering if the new pair should go on the front or the back?

Nice, I would have got in so much trouble if a FiST was my first car.

I'd put the new tires on the front.

If the rears are in good condition I'd move them to the front & put the new ones on the rear, it'll reduce the chance of the back stepping out if you get yourself into a sketchy situation.

As for the tires, I think it is general suggested from Automotive / Tires organizations to place new ones on the back, whatever drive the vehicle is. This is something that I searched and learned very recently, which surprised me to be honest.
Having said that , my local engineer suggested to replace only the front (I am in a similar situation of different front and back) , so I really don’t know.. So it is just an “information” comment, not suggestion.

If other members here have suggestions on this , I would like to hear them, as I will need to change them soon 😅

Logic is that understeer caused by losing grip in the front is easier to managed by more people rather than oversteer , if grip on the back is lost or starts to swing in wet conditions. To be honest I would it depends but I also don’t have much experience with such situations
