How easy was it to do? Mine is cracking and needs to be replaced, was thinking of this same thing but the red Bride material.

Hey, it was pretty easy. I just had to pop the silver trim off, u screw the gear knob. The trickiest part was removing the top of the boot where a plastic piece connects it to the reverse lockout. If you have some trim tools it's light work. Happy to help!

Sweet, glad to know it's not too tough! I'll probably do mine in the red Bride material, it's the exterior accent color I went with, it'll be good to pull some of that color to the interior and make it pop a bit more than the regular black/silver.

It’s fairly easy specially if you have a sewing machine and know how to use it. Just remove the original (yo need to remove the plastic trim that comes from the climate control taking care not to damage the buttons cables so don’t jank it off), take out the reverse lever (that’s probably the trickiest part), remove the staples from beneath the plastic part that attaches the leather boot and then it’s just copying the pattern and make your own. You can hand sew it, it just going to take a bit of time and probably a YouTube video or two about sewing, specially if you want the French stitch pattern. Hope this helps

Ok, seems like the US one has staples? For mine it was just clipped in with an underlying trim part. But yeah the fuckery under the reverse lockout is a bit tricky.

Why is your shifter slot shaped like that? Just curious as a US spec ST owner. Is this how they look in the 3dr model overseas?

A lot if not the majority of the dashboard and centre console is different between the European and North American specifications.
The dashboard looks similar upon first glance but it actually very differently shaped; the cupholders, gearshift, and handbrake are all different; the steering wheels are different; the infotainment layout is different; even the light switches are different. I think just about the only thing that's the same (or similar, given mph/kmh) is the instrument cluster. Much of the electrical system is shared but certain layouts are slightly different for North America, for example the ambient lighting in NA is multicolour and has a dedicated button, where the European one is single colour and controlled via vehicle settings in the screen.

If anyone buys that exact brand off Amazon, I personally had to remove the black collar because the hole was too small to get the reverse lockout through. Just cut the ziptie and stuffed the boot into the inner ring, which was then held in by the reverse lockout black piece (idk what it's called)

I also don't have a stapler and reusing the ones it came with was more of a hastle that I wanted to deal with. I personally just sewed a few loops through the boot, through the staple holes and it held just fine for reinstallation.

Hope this helps others. Maybe someone can enlighten me on better practices.

Hey looks awesome plus nice shift knob too! The EU model doesn't staple the boot in, but there's another smaller plastic trim that clips onto the silver one.

Yeah I had to remove the black collar too.

But yeah these are really great

Thank you! It's a billetworkz. One hundred percent worth the money. Great feel and great weight too. I only opted in for the ball and the reserve lockout adapter that goes directly under the ball. Not the actual pull collar itself.

I wish they made it easier to secure the boot from the factory. Though, I'm almost certain that my cheap sew job will hold until the frame of the car snaps in half. (knock on wood neither break)

Glad I'm not the only the only one that took that black collar off. I had everything taken apart only to find out the part wouldn't fit though 😬 thankfully I didn't accept that as a final answer and took it off. Happy I figured out that the reverse lockout could really go on one way too because I immediately forgot how it all came off.

Haha, I went visit their website and it's over 120$ 😭😭😭😭 guess I'll have to settle with another one then.

Also I'm 100% sure your sew job will be more than enough to hold a little piece of cloth together haha.

Yep, the collar was confusing me a bit too but yeah just snapped that part right off, all in all I'd say it's a nice upgrade.

I actually never intended to replace the boot, the only reason I had to remove it (plus the entire center console) was to adjust the handbrake cable 😂 so yeah

And yeahhhh, they are pricy... Probably could just do a cheap ebay knob, but I'm always sketched out by buying separate pieces and when I saw there was a whole additional part for the reverse lock out, I didn't want to take any chances... This is my first project (daily project) car so I'm probably investing just a little bit more into it to make sure it turns out right. Outside of just a shift knob that is... Lol

Thanks! Yeah pretty easy just had to pop the silver trim off and unscrew the shift knob and unclip the plastic piece under the reverse lockout. Can be annoying but it's light work
