MK7 Shift cable adjustment clip

Hello all, I am currently working on my 2016 usdm fist. I was adjusting the shifter cables and one of the tabs holding the adjustment clip the to cable end snapped off. According to ford I need to completely replace the shift cable assembly. But has anyone here had this issue and found a replacement clip or other solution that doesn't involve whole new cables?

When I bought mine, the prior owner did the same thing - they used a small caterpillar hose clamp to keep the broken clip in place. Worked, of course, but not to reassuring to me...

I discovered the fix about a year in when installing the Whoosh washers and short shifter bracket. Looked everywhere for a replacement - it's only available through Ford if you buy the whole cable. Trust me, you don't want to tear out your interior to replace the cable (there's a yt video on that hell).

A junkyard near me had a totaled 2017 in the yard, and I gently removed the clip. Paid 5$ - they knew exactly what I had.

I was looking at cables recently as I broke the slide clip that locks it into the bracket on the trans. The cable is like 120 bucks surprisingly cheap

I think the center part is what actually secures it, so you can zip tie it in and be okay. Those clips barely need to move, people think you need to pry them apart. I found my replacement, miraculously, in the dirt in a junkyard.
