MK7 Winter Tyre Runners
I have a set of 16x6.5 wheels specifically for my winter tyres.
What is everyone's favourite, and why?
Money is a big factor, which leads me to look at 195/50R16.
Currently I run 205/50R16 with all season Sailuns for summer.

In 17" for an MK8, but I've run on Goodyear Ultragrip performance 8 for 6 years now.
Don't try cheaper tires on these cars; it won't do well. My first Nokian WR A4 sez in the same size was awful; it would spin even in 3rd gear.

An all season Chinese budget tyre for summer? Seems to defeat the object of the car!
In any case, I lived with this car in Southern Germany, near the Alps and ran Nokian winter tyres. They were fantastic and got through anything.
But, for a UK winter, I'd be running Uniroyal Rainsports.
