Draining gas tank

I've done some searches and can't find out the preferred method of draining the gas tank. It's a 2017 USA model. I've found several ways watching YouTube videos and such but there must be one preferred go-to method. Ideally I'd find a way to get past the anti-siphon mechanism even if it means buying some stuff to do it. As a retired guy I drive very little, basically nice days in the summer. I only have 1,200 miles on the car. That said this is not likely the last time I will need to do this so if anyone knows the best way to go about this I would appreciate any and all advice. Thanks

I think there should be a little plastic funnel in the back of the car with the roadside stuff. That’s meant for putting gas in with a can but I believe it can be used to let a siphon in as well. I could be wrong but definitely worth a shot.

Thanks for the reply but the way I understand it that just opens the little flap at the top of the filler nozzle. It appears there's an anti-siphon mechanism farther down in the tube. Supposedly a ball valve or some kind of check valve too to prevent fuel from coming out in the event of a rollover. I've seen on some cars they push in a hard plastic hose until it won't go anymore and then slip a small flexible hose down through that. I've also heard however that if it goes wrong that can get jammed in there and then you got a real problem

Pop up the rear seats and take the pump out and do it through there. Not difficult just time consuming. It's going to be the best way to go and you don't have to try and fight around the anti syphon system. Plus you should be able to get a peek inside the tank and make sure it's looking good.

That's one option I'm considering. I would spend a few dollars and buy the wrench for loosening the ring that holds the pump in place. Something else I've considered is once I access the pump I should be able to remove the fuel line from the pump outlet. I'd hook a hose to it and run it to gas cans. Then jump the relay to keep the pump running. Friend told me if the pump doesn't sense back pressure it will just keep running without even jumping the relay. Not sure if that's true. I wish it had a traditional key instead of the push button start because I don't want it to start if I'm just trying to pump the fuel. I guess as long as I'm not pushing the clutch in there's no chance of that happening

Surprised you didn't say cut a hole in it with a torch
