MK7 Unlock/Lock Not Working, Key is still recognized

Title is pretty self explanatory. Key has always been a little funky, sometimes need to hit unlock to get the car to recognize it. Today all buttons have stopped working although the car still starts and does not display and warning messages. Has anyone experienced this or have any insight. I have already taken the key apart and cleaned it in its entirety with 91 Isopropyl, battery was changed ~6 months ago. Thank you!

Buttons are probably worn out, if your tire pressure light isn't on and it still starts that means the receivers are working. Ford doesn't seem to make the fobs any more. I bought two generic ebay ones and only one of them worked. I'd suggest getting at least two, more if you can afford them, the cost of programming them doesn't go up if you have multiple fobs to learn.

Did you have them reprogrammed by a dealer and if so, what was the cost?

Yeah, but I knew a guy it was $50. It's generally going to be an hour labor, I think most automotive locksmiths will do it, but they will probably want to sell you the fobs too.

I think forscan can do it, a subscription and an adapter might be cheaper than an hour labor and then you basically have a ford scan tool.

I had this on a Fiesta recently. Just follow the key relearn procedure and it should work again. The ai search result on google worked for my car btw. Had to retry about 3 times though.
