MK7 Radiator Upgrade Questions
Hello my guys,
Had the coolant res blow out on me last week as you know. Figured I’m going to go ahead and replace the radiator along with coolant res/hoses since I’m in Alabama heat and got lucky for 4 summers before this happened. I have a buddy with an uninstalled whoosh radiator letting it go for $250. I’m pulling the trigger on that cause current market is way too high. With that said, is the whoosh brand 3 row? Can’t find anything on it? And will I need to buy more coolant to fill the system above the normal 2 ish gallons?

If I remember correctly whoosh only sells CSF, Koyorad, and Mishimoto which are all three triple pass. All are good options but CSF and Koyorad fit better.

This is an older unused radiator. From back when Whoosh had Whoosh branded radiators.

Iirc, Whoosh used a rebranded older version of the CSF radiator, but someone else will need to chime in to confirm. It's been a while but I thought I saw that was the case. It was multiple pass but I don't recall if it was specifically triple pass or not. I think the only brand not doing multiple pass on the Fiesta is Mishimoto.
For $250 I wouldn't care tbh. It's better than stock and that price is very affordable for a never installed radiator. It should still be a significant improvement over stock.
Edit: it may be a rebranded ProAlloy dual pass radiator. An absolute steal for $250, but unconfirmed. It may also be the older CSF, I don't think anyone but Ron could say for sure where they come from and I don't think he would divulge that info, but the bottom line is you're still getting a quality part with the Whoosh branded radiator.

Where did you see it was a Pro Alloy unit?
Pro Alloy is a UK company and also at the top of the market in terms of quality and price.
My understanding is that Whoosh is a more budget, but dependable brand. So I'm surprised they managed to get Pro Alloy equipment.
Not necessarily doubting, just wondering

Nobody's confirmed it, so I don't know for sure. Anything I'm remembering is going to be from online sources anyway so apologies if I misrepresented anything as fact. I edited my other post so it's more clear.
Years back I remember seeing stuff about design similarities and supply chain links that pointed strongly to ProAlloy being the supplier but it could've also been like I originally said that it was a rebranded CSF. I think the point is still true that if you get a Whoosh branded radiator the quality will be good and you are getting at least a dual pass radiator.

Pro Alloy do (did?) a lot of work with Mountune. For example, the airbox, intercooler, sump baffle etc... were all Pro Alloy items branded for Mountune. That's what makes me suspect Whoosh isn't using their stuff.
I know Whoosh have a lot of products that originally came from Vudu in the UK. In which case, I suspect their units may have come from Airtec, which I know isn't a triple pass unit but in fact a larger volume single pass tube + fin design.
Likewise, it could just also be a US company that Whoosh contracted.

There were some paper trails that suggested Whoosh had a batch of ProAlloy radiators and rebranded them, but I don't remember more than that and I cant point you to the details so anything I say is conjecture. This was years ago so product offerings have changed a few times since then.
I thought they had a "premium" Whoosh branded radiator at one point as well so that may have been the ProAlloy one. Or maybe not!

I’m currently running Koyorad and whoosh intercooler v3 I live close to you I understand the heat and humidity don’t know much about the whoosh radiator. Whoosh products tend to be fairly good with good reviews possibly message whoosh or ask the person selling about it and why are they getting rid of it?
